Acts 1:15-17

Peter Suggests That According To Scripture, Judas Should Be Replaced

15 And during these days, Peter, having stood up in the midst of the brothers (and the crowd of names at the same place was about one-hundred twenty), said, 16 “Men, brothers, the Scripture had-to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke-beforehand through the mouth of David concerning Judas, the one having become a guide for the ones having arrested Jesus, 17 because[a] he was numbered among us, and received his share of this ministry”.

Acts 1:21-26

21 Therefore, from the men having accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us, 22 beginning from the baptism of John until the day that He was taken-up from us— one of these must become a witness of His resurrection with us”.

Matthias Is Chosen

23 And they put-forward two: Joseph (the one being called Barsabbas, who was called Justus), and Matthias. 24 And having prayed, they said, “You, Lord, heart-knower of all— appoint[a] the one whom You chose from these two 25 to take the place of this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned-aside to go to his own place”. 26 And they gave lots for them. And the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was added with the eleven apostles.

1 John 5:9-13

If we receive the testimony of humans, the testimony of God is greater!

Because God Himself Has Testified That He Has Given Us Eternal Life In His Son

Because[a] this is the testimony of God: that[b] He has testified about His Son! 10 The one believing in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. The one not believing God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony which God has testified about His Son. 11 And this is the testimony[c]: that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 The one having the Son has the life. The one not having the Son of God does not have the life.

I Wrote These Things That You May Know You Have Eternal Life

13 I wrote these[d] things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.

John 17:6-19

I Have Revealed Your Name To The Men You Gave Me. Keep Them In Your Name

“I revealed Your name to the men whom You gave to Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me. And they have kept Your word. They have now come-to-know that all[a] things that You have given to Me are from You— because I have given them the words which You gave to Me, and they received them, and truly understood that I came forth from You, and believed that You sent Me forth. I am praying[b] for them. I am not praying for the world, but for the ones whom You have given to Me— because they are Yours; 10 indeed all[c] My things are Yours, and Yours, Mine[d]. And I have been glorified in them. 11 And I am[e] no longer in the world, and they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep[f] them in[g] Your name which You have given to Me, in order that they may be one, just as We are. 12 When I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given to Me. And I guarded them, and none of them perished— except the son of [h] destruction, in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to You. And I am speaking these things in the world so that they may have My joy made-full in themselves.

I Have Given Them Your Word. Set Them Apart In The Truth, Which Is Your Word

14 I have given them Your word, and the world hated them— because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I am not praying that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the[i] evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world— 17 set them apart[j] in[k] the truth. Your word is truth. 18 Just as You sent Me forth into the world, I also sent them forth into the world. 19 And I am setting apart Myself for them, in order that they may also be set apart in truth.
