Good News Translation (GNT)
Version
Psalm 15

What God Requires[a]

15 Lord, who may enter your Temple?
    Who may worship on Zion, your sacred hill?[b]

Those who obey God in everything
    and always do what is right,
whose words are true and sincere,
    and who do not slander others.
They do no wrong to their friends
    nor spread rumors about their neighbors.
They despise those whom God rejects,
    but honor those who obey the Lord.
They always do what they promise,
    no matter how much it may cost.
They make loans without charging interest
    and cannot be bribed to testify against the innocent.

Whoever does these things will always be secure.

Deuteronomy 16:18-20

The Administration of Justice

18 “Appoint judges and other officials in every town that the Lord your God gives you. These men are to judge the people impartially. 19 (A)They are not to be unjust or show partiality in their judgments; and they are not to accept bribes, for gifts blind the eyes even of wise and honest men, and cause them to give wrong decisions. 20 Always be fair and just, so that you will occupy the land that the Lord your God is giving you and so that you will continue to live there.

1 Peter 3:8-12

Suffering for Doing Right

To conclude: you must all have the same attitude and the same feelings; love one another, and be kind and humble with one another. Do not pay back evil with evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing, because a blessing is what God promised to give you when he called you. 10 (A)As the scripture says,

“If you want to enjoy life
    and wish to see good times,
    you must keep from speaking evil
    and stop telling lies.
11 You must turn away from evil and do good;
    you must strive for peace with all your heart.
12 For the Lord watches over the righteous
    and listens to their prayers;
    but he opposes those who do evil.”
