Psalm 110

Jehovah gives dominion to the king.

A Psalm of David.

110 Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
Until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Jehovah will [a]send forth the [b]rod of thy strength out of Zion:
Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
Thy people [c]offer themselves willingly
In the day of thy [d]power, [e]in holy array:
Out of the womb of the morning
[f]Thou hast the dew of thy youth.
Jehovah hath sworn, and will not repent:
Thou art a priest for ever
After the [g]order of Melchizedek.
The Lord at thy right hand
[h]Will strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
He will judge among the nations,
[i]He [j]will fill the places with dead bodies;
He [k]will strike through the head [l]in many countries.
He will drink of the brook in the way:
Therefore will he lift up the head.

Exodus 1:22-2:10

22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of [a]bulrushes, and daubed it with [b]slime and with pitch; and she put the child therein, and laid it in the flags by the river’s brink. And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him. And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river-side; and she saw the ark among the flags, and sent her handmaid to fetch it. And she opened it, and saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children. Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maiden went and called the child’s mother. And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. 10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name [c]Moses, and said, Because I [d]drew him out of the water.

Hebrews 11:23-26

23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a goodly child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. 24 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 choosing rather to share ill treatment with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 accounting the reproach of [a]Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.
