Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
Psalm 133
Living in Harmony
A Davidic song of ascents.
1 How good and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in harmony!(A)
2 It is like fine oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
running down Aaron’s beard
onto his robes.(B)
3 It is like the dew of Hermon[a]
falling on the mountains of Zion.(C)
For there the Lord has appointed the blessing—
life forevermore.(D)
Joseph’s Death
22 Joseph and his father’s household remained in Egypt. Joseph lived 110 years. 23 He saw Ephraim’s sons to the third generation;(A) the sons of Manasseh’s son Machir were recognized by[a][b] Joseph.(B)
24 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die,(C) but God will certainly come to your aid and bring you up from this land to the land He promised Abraham,(D) Isaac,(E) and Jacob.”(F) 25 So Joseph made the sons of Israel take an oath: “When God comes to your aid, you are to carry my bones up from here.”(G)
26 Joseph died at the age of 110. They embalmed him and placed him in a coffin in Egypt.
The Barren Fig Tree Is Withered
20 Early(A) in the morning, as they were passing by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up. 21 Then Peter(B) remembered and said to Him, “Rabbi,(C) look! The fig tree that You cursed(D) is withered.”
22 Jesus replied to them, “Have faith in God.(E) 23 I assure you:(F) If anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt(G) in his heart, but believes(H) that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.(I) 24 Therefore I tell you, all the things you pray(J) and ask for(K)—believe that you have received[a](L) them, and you will have them. 25 And whenever you stand(M) praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive(N) him, so that your Father(O) in heaven(P) will also forgive(Q) you your wrongdoing.
