¹⁸ Lay up these my words in your hearts and minds, and hang them for a sign on your hands, and place them between your eyes.

¹⁹ Teach your children that they meditate on them, when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest on the way, and when thou liest down and risest up.

²⁰ Thou shalt write them upon the posts and the doors of thy house:

²¹ That thy days may be multiplied, and the days of thy children in the land which the Lord swore to thy fathers, that he would give them as long as the heaven hangeth over the earth.

²⁶ Behold I set forth in your sight this day a blessing and a curse:

²⁷ A blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day:

²⁸ A curse, if you obey not the commandments of the Lord your. God, but revolt from the way which now I shew you, and walk after strange gods which you know not.

31 To David himself, understanding. Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

² Blessed is the man to whom the Lord hath not imputed sin, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

³ Because I was silent my bones grew old; whilst I cried out all the day long.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: I am turned in my anguish, whilst the thorn is fastened.

⁵ I have acknowledged my sin to thee, and my injustice I have not concealed. I said I will confess against myself my injustice to the Lord: and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin.

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel. For it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and to the Greek.

¹⁷ For the justice of God is revealed therein, from faith unto faith, as it is written: The just man liveth by faith.

²² Even the justice of God, by faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all them that believe in him: for there is no distinction:

²³ For all have sinned, and do need the glory of God.

²⁴ Being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption, that is in Christ Jesus,

²⁵ Whom God hath proposed to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, to the shewing of his justice, for the remission of former sins,

²⁶ Through the forbearance of God, for the shewing of his justice in this time; that he himself may be just, and the justifier of him, who is of the faith of Jesus Christ.

²⁷ Where is then thy boasting? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith.

²⁸ For we account a man to be justified by faith, without the works of the law.

²⁹ Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also.

³⁰ For it is one God, that justifieth circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

³¹ Do we, then, destroy the law through faith? God forbid: but we establish the law.

²¹ Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.

²² Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and done many miracles in thy name?

²³ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.

²⁴ Every one therefore that heareth these my words, and doth them, shall be likened to a wise man that built his house upon a rock,

²⁵ And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it was founded on a rock.

²⁶ And every one that heareth these my words, and doth them not, shall be like a foolish man that built his house upon the sand,

²⁷ And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall thereof.

²⁸ And it came to pass when Jesus had fully ended these words, the people were in admiration at his doctrine.

²⁹ For he was teaching them as one having power, and not as the scribes and Pharisees.
