Version
Ezekiel 34:11-16

11 “‘For thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Look! I, even I, will seek my flock, and I will look after them, 12 just like the caring of a shepherd for his herd on[a] the day when he is in the midst of his scattered flock. Thus I will look after my flock, and I will deliver them from all the places to which they were scattered[b] on the day of storm and stress.[c] 13 And I will bring them out from the peoples, and I will gather them from the countries, and I will bring them to their soil, and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys, and in all of the settlements of the land. 14 I will feed them in good pasture, and their pasture will be on the mountains of the heights of Israel; there they will lie down in good pasture, and on lush pasture they will feed on the mountains of Israel. 15 I myself[d] will feed my flock and I myself[e] will allow them to lie down,” declares[f] the Lord Yahweh. 16 “I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the scattered, and I will bind up the one hurt, and I will strengthen the sick; and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed her with justice.”

Ezekiel 34:20-24

20 “‘Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh to them: “Look! I, even I will judge between fat sheep and between lean sheep, 21 because with your flank and with your shoulder you shoved, and with your horns you pushed all of the sick animals until[a] you scattered it[b] to the outside. 22 And so I will save my flock, and they will no longer be[c] for plunder, and I will judge between one sheep and another.[d] 23 And I will set up over them one shepherd, and he will feed them; that is, my servant David. He will feed them, and he will be for them as[e] a shepherd. 24 And I, Yahweh, I will be for them as God,[f] and my servant David will be a leader in the midst of them. I, Yahweh, I have spoken.

Psalm 95:1-7

A Call to Worship and Obey

95 Come, let us sing for joy to Yahweh;
let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving;
with songs let us shout joyfully to him.
For Yahweh is the[a] great God,
and the great king over all gods,
in whose hand are the unexplored places[b] of the earth,
and the heights of the mountains are his,
to whom belongs the sea that he made, [c]
and the dry land that his hands formed.
Come in, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before Yahweh, our maker.
For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture
and the sheep of his hand.
Today[d] if you will hear his voice:[e]

Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom

15 Because of this I also, hearing of your faith[a] in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father[b],[c] may give you a spirit of wisdom[d] and revelation in the knowledge of him 18 (the eyes of your hearts having been enlightened), so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance among the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty strength 20 which he has worked[e] in Christ, raising[f] him from the dead and seating him[g] at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 above all rule and authority and power and lordship and every name named, not only in this age but also in the coming one, 22 and he subjected all things under his feet[h] and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.

Matthew 25:31-46

The Judgment of the Sheep and the Goats

31 Now when the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 And all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate them from one another like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right and the goats on the left. 34 Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world! 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something[a] to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something[b] to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me as a guest, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you cared for me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,[c] or thirsty and give you something[d] to drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you[e] as a guest, or naked and clothe you?[f] 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ 40 And the king will answer and[g] say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, in as much as you did it[h] to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it[i] to me.’ 41 Then he will also say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed ones, into the eternal fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels! 42 For I was hungry and you did not give me anything[j] to eat, I was thirsty and you did not give me anything[k] to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me as a guest, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not care for me.’ 44 Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and not serve you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly I say to you, in as much as you did not do it[l] to one of the least of these, you did not do it[m] to me.’ 46 And these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
