Version
Ezekiel 34:11-16

11 “For this is what the Lord God says: See, I Myself will search for My flock and look for them. 12 As a shepherd looks for his sheep on the day he is among his scattered flock, so I will look for My flock. I will rescue them from all the places where they have been scattered(A) on a cloudy and dark day. 13 I will bring them out from the peoples, gather them from the countries, and bring them into their own land. I will shepherd them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the land. 14 I will tend them with good pasture, and their grazing place will be on Israel’s lofty mountains. There they will lie down in a good grazing place; they will feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. 15 I will tend My flock and let them lie down.”(B) This is the declaration of the Lord God. 16 “I will seek the lost,(C) bring back the strays, bandage the injured,(D) and strengthen the weak, but I will destroy[a] the fat and the strong. I will shepherd them with justice.

Ezekiel 34:20-24

20 “Therefore, this is what the Lord God says to them: See, I Myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21 Since you have pushed with flank and shoulder and butted all the weak ones with your horns until you scattered them all over, 22 I will save My flock, and they will no longer be prey for you. I will judge between one sheep and another. 23 I will appoint over them a single shepherd, My servant David, and he will shepherd them. He will tend them himself and will be their shepherd.(A) 24 I, Yahweh, will be their God, and My servant David(B) will be a prince among them. I, Yahweh, have spoken.

Worship and Warning

Come, let us shout joyfully to the Lord,
shout triumphantly to the rock of our salvation!(A)
Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving;
let us shout triumphantly to Him in song.(B)

For the Lord is a great God,
a great King above all gods.(C)
The depths of the earth are in His hand,
and the mountain peaks are His.(D)
The sea is His; He made it.
His hands formed the dry land.(E)

Come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.(F)
For He is our God,
and we are the people of His pasture,
the sheep under His care.[a](G)

Today, if you hear His voice:(H)

Ephesians 1:15-23

Prayer for Spiritual Insight

15 This is why, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 I never stop giving thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. 17 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,[a] would give you a spirit[b](A) of wisdom and revelation(B) in the knowledge of Him. 18 I pray that the perception of your mind[c] may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope(C) of His calling,(D) what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power(E) to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength.

God’s Power in Christ

20 He demonstrated this power in the Messiah by raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His right hand(F) in the heavens(G) 21 far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given,[d](H) not only in this age but also in the one to come.(I) 22 And He put everything under His feet(J)[e] and appointed Him as head(K) over everything for the church, 23 which is His body,(L) the fullness(M) of the One who fills all things(N) in every way.

Matthew 25:31-46

The Sheep and the Goats

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels[a](A) with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.(B) 32 All the nations[b](C) will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.(D) 33 He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom(E) prepared for you from the foundation of the world.(F)

35 For I was hungry
and you gave Me something to eat;
I was thirsty
and you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 I was naked and you clothed Me;
I was sick and you took care of Me;
I was in prison and you visited Me.’(G)

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?’

40 “And the King will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’(H) 41 Then He will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels!(I)

42 For I was hungry
and you gave Me nothing to eat;
I was thirsty
and you gave Me nothing to drink;
43 I was a stranger
and you didn’t take Me in;
I was naked
and you didn’t clothe Me,
sick and in prison
and you didn’t take care of Me.’

44 “Then they too will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or sick, or in prison, and not help You?’

45 “Then He will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me either.’(J)

46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”(K)
