New English Translation (NET)
Version
Psalm 23

Psalm 23[a]

A psalm of David.

23 The Lord is my shepherd,[b]
I lack nothing.[c]
He takes me to lush pastures,[d]
he leads me to refreshing water.[e]
He restores my strength.[f]
He leads me down[g] the right paths[h]
for the sake of his reputation.[i]
Even when I must walk through the darkest valley,[j]
I fear[k] no danger,[l]
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff reassure me.[m]
You prepare a feast before me[n]
in plain sight of my enemies.
You refresh[o] my head with oil;
my cup is completely full.[p]
Surely your goodness and faithfulness[q] will pursue[r] me all my days,[s]
and I will live in[t] the Lord’s house[u] for the rest of my life.[v]

Isaiah 24:17-23

17 Terror, pit, and snare
are ready to overtake, you inhabitants of the earth![a]
18 The one who runs away from the sound of the terror
will fall into the pit;[b]
the one who climbs out of the pit
will be trapped by the snare.
For the floodgates of the heavens[c] are opened up[d]
and the foundations of the earth shake.
19 The earth is broken in pieces,
the earth is ripped to shreds,
the earth shakes violently.[e]
20 The earth will stagger around[f] like a drunk;
it will sway back and forth like a hut in a windstorm.[g]
Its sin will weigh it down,
and it will fall and never get up again.

The Lord Will Become King

21 At that time[h] the Lord will punish[i]
the heavenly forces in the heavens[j]
and the earthly kings on the earth.
22 They will be imprisoned in a pit,[k]
locked up in a prison,
and after staying there for a long time,[l] they will be punished.[m]
23 The full moon will be covered up,[n]
the bright sun[o] will be darkened;[p]
for the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will rule[q]
on Mount Zion in Jerusalem
in the presence of his assembly, in majestic splendor.[r]

Mark 2:18-22

The Superiority of the New

18 Now[a] John’s[b] disciples and the Pharisees[c] were fasting.[d] So[e] they came to Jesus[f] and said, “Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?” 19 Jesus[g] said to them, “The wedding guests[h] cannot fast while the bridegroom[i] is with them, can they?[j] As long as they have the bridegroom with them they do not fast. 20 But the days are coming when the bridegroom will be taken from them,[k] and at that time[l] they will fast. 21 No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise, the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and the tear becomes worse. 22 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins;[m] otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins will be destroyed. Instead new wine is poured into new wineskins.”[n]
