Psalm 119:65-72

Teth.

65 You have dealt well with Your servant,
O Lord, according to Your word.
66 Teach me good [a](A)discernment and knowledge,
For I believe in Your commandments.
67 (B)Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.
68 You are (C)good and (D)do good;
(E)Teach me Your statutes.
69 The arrogant [b]have (F)forged a lie against me;
With all my heart I will (G)observe Your precepts.
70 Their heart is [c](H)covered with fat,
But I (I)delight in Your law.
71 It is (J)good for me that I was afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.
72 The (K)law of Your mouth is better to me
Than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

Leviticus 16:1-5

Law of Atonement

16 Now the Lord spoke to Moses after (A)the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they had approached the presence of the Lord and died. The Lord said to Moses:

“Tell your brother Aaron that he shall not enter (B)at any time into the holy place inside the veil, before the [a]mercy seat which is on the ark, or he will die; for (C)I will appear in the cloud over the [b]mercy seat. Aaron shall enter the holy place with this: with a [c]bull for a (D)sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. He shall put on the (E)holy linen tunic, and the linen undergarments shall be next to his [d]body, and he shall be girded with the linen sash and attired with the linen turban (these are holy garments). Then he shall (F)bathe his [e]body in water and put them on. He shall take from the congregation of the sons of Israel (G)two male goats for a sin offering and one ram for a burnt offering.

Leviticus 16:20-28

20 “When he finishes atoning for the holy place and the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall offer the live goat. 21 Then Aaron shall lay both of his hands on the head of the live goat, and (A)confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel and all their transgressions [a]in regard to all their sins; and he shall lay them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who stands in readiness. 22 The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to a solitary land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

23 “Then Aaron shall come into the tent of meeting and take off (B)the linen garments which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there. 24 (C)He shall bathe his [b]body with water in a holy place and put on (D)his clothes, and come forth and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people and make atonement for himself and for the people. 25 Then he shall offer up in smoke the fat of the sin offering on the altar. 26 The one who released the goat as the [c]scapegoat (E)shall wash his clothes and bathe his [d]body with water; then afterward he shall come into the camp. 27 But the bull of the sin offering and the goat of the sin offering, (F)whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall be taken outside the camp, and they shall burn their hides, their flesh, and their refuse in the fire. 28 Then the (G)one who burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his body with water, then afterward he shall come into the camp.

Matthew 21:18-22

The Barren Fig Tree

18 (A)Now in the morning, when He was returning to the city, He became hungry. 19 Seeing a lone (B)fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only; and He *said to it, “No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you.” And at once the fig tree withered.

20 Seeing this, the disciples were amazed and asked, “How did the fig tree wither all at once?” 21 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, (C)if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. 22 And (D)all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
