Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
138 I will praise You with my whole heart; before the gods I will praise You.
2 I will worship toward Your Holy Temple, and praise Your Name, because of Your lovingkindness and for Your Truth; for You have magnified Your Name by Your Word above all things.
3 When I called, then You heard me and increased strength in my soul.
4 All the kings of the Earth shall praise You, O LORD; for they have heard the words of Your mouth.
5 And they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, because the Glory of the LORD is great.
6 For the LORD is high, yet He beholds the lowly; but He knows the proud afar off.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. You will stretch forth Your hand upon the wrath of my enemies; and Your right hand shall save me.
8 The LORD will perform toward me. O LORD, Your mercy endures forever! Do not forsake the works of Your hands. To him who excels: A Psalm of David
11 Moreover, the Word of the LORD came to me, saying:
12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “You seal up the sum, are full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 “You have been in Eden, the Garden of God. Every precious stone in your garment—the ruby, the topaz, the diamond, the chrysolite, the onyx, the jasper, the sapphire, emerald, the carbuncle and gold, the workmanship of your timbrels and of your pipes—was prepared in you on the day that you were created.
14 “You are the anointed Cherub that covers; and I have set you. You were upon the Holy Mountain of God. You have walked in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 “You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was found in you.
16 “By the multitude of your merchandise, they have filled the midst of you with cruelty; and you have sinned. Therefore, I will cast you out of the Mountain of God as profane. And I will destroy you, O covering Cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 “Your heart was haughty because of your beauty. You have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I will cast you to the ground. I will lay you before kings so that they may behold you.
18 “You have defiled your sanctification by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your merchandise. Therefore, I will bring forth a fire from the midst of you, which shall devour you. And I will bring you to ashes upon the Earth, in the sight of all those who behold you.
19 “All those who know you among the people shall be astonished at you. You shall be a terror; and you shall never be anymore.”’”
6 Do any of you dare, when having business against another, to be judged by the unjust, and not by the Saints?
2 Do you not know that the Saints shall judge the world? If the world then shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Do you not know that we shall judge the angels? How much more so things that pertain to this life?
4 If then you have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set those up who are least-esteemed in the Church.
5 I speak this to your shame. Is it so that there is not a wise man among you? No, not one, who can judge between his brothers?
6 But a brother goes to law with a brother, and then before unbelievers!
7 Therefore, it is now a total defeat for you, that you go to law with one another. Rather, why do you not suffer wrong? Rather, why do you not sustain harm?
8 But, you yourselves do wrong, and do harm, and that to your brothers!
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor catamites, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers shall inherit the Kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you. But you are washed. But you are sanctified. But you are justified, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
