Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
Cause Your Face to Shine upon Us
For the choir director. With stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.
67 God be gracious to us and (A)bless us,
And (B)cause His face to shine [a]upon us— [b]Selah.
2 That (C)Your way may be known on the earth,
(D)Your salvation among all nations.
3 Let the (E)peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
4 Let the (F)nations be glad and sing for joy;
For You will (G)judge the peoples with uprightness
And (H)lead the nations on the earth. Selah.
5 Let the (I)peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
6 The (J)earth has yielded its produce;
God, our God, (K)blesses us.
7 God blesses us,
[c]That (L)all the ends of the earth may fear Him.
Prayer for Mercy and Help
15 (A)Look down from heaven and see from Your holy and glorious (B)habitation;
Where are Your (C)zeal and Your mighty deeds?
The (D)tumults within You and Your compassion are restrained toward me.
16 For You are our (E)Father, though (F)Abraham does not know us
And Israel does not recognize us.
You, O Yahweh, are our Father,
Our (G)Redeemer from everlasting is Your name.
17 Why, O Yahweh, do You (H)cause us to stray from Your ways
And (I)stiffen our heart from fearing You?
(J)Return for the sake of Your slaves, the tribes of Your inheritance.
18 Your holy people possessed Your sanctuary for a little while;
Our adversaries have (K)trodden it down.
19 We have become like those over whom You have never ruled,
Like those who were not called by Your name.
19 But (A)Jews came from (B)Antioch and (C)Iconium, and after winning over the crowds and (D)stoning Paul, they were dragging him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. 20 But while (E)the disciples stood around him, he rose up and entered the city. The next day he went away with Barnabas to (F)Derbe. 21 And after they had (G)proclaimed the gospel to that city and had (H)made many disciples, they returned to (I)Lystra and to (J)Iconium and to (K)Antioch, 22 strengthening the souls of (L)the disciples, encouraging them to continue in (M)the faith, and saying, “(N)Through many afflictions we must enter the kingdom of God.” 23 And when (O)they had appointed (P)elders for them in every church, having (Q)prayed with fasting, they (R)commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
The Return to Antioch
24 And when they passed through (S)Pisidia, they came into (T)Pamphylia. 25 And when they had spoken the word in (U)Perga, they went down to Attalia. 26 And from there they sailed to (V)Antioch, from (W)where they had been (X)committed to the grace of God for the work that they had fulfilled. 27 And when they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to (Y)report all things that God had done with them and [a]how He had opened a (Z)door of faith to the Gentiles. 28 And they spent not a little time with (AA)the disciples.
