Psalm 75

God Judges with Equity

For the choir director. [a]Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph. [b]A Song.

75 We (A)give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,
For Your name is (B)near;
Men recount (C)Your wondrous deeds.
“For I select an (D)appointed time,
It is I who (E)judge with equity.
The (F)earth and all who dwell in it [c]melt;
It is I who have firmly set its (G)pillars. [d]Selah.
I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
And to the wicked, ‘(H)Do not raise up the horn;
Do not raise up your horn on high,
(I)Nor speak with insolent [e]pride.’”

For one’s rising up does not come from the east, nor from the west,
And not from the [f](J)desert;
But (K)God is the Judge;
He (L)puts down one and raises up another.
For a (M)cup is in the hand of Yahweh, and the wine foams;
It is (N)full of His mixture, and He pours from this;
Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and (O)drink down its dregs.

But as for me, I will (P)declare it forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 And all the (Q)horns of the wicked I will cut off,
But (R)the horns of the righteous will be raised up.

Nahum 1:1-13

Yahweh’s Wrath Against Nineveh

The [a](A)oracle of (B)Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.

Aleph

A (C)jealous and avenging God is [b]Yahweh;
Yahweh is (D)avenging and [c]wrathful.
Yahweh is (E)avenging against His adversaries,
And He keeps His anger for His enemies.
Yahweh is (F)slow to anger and great in power,
And Yahweh will by no means leave the guilty unpunished.

Beth

In (G)whirlwind and storm is His way,
And (H)clouds are the dust beneath His feet.

Gimel

He (I)rebukes the sea and makes it dry;
He dries up all the rivers.
(J)Bashan and Carmel languish;
The blossoms of Lebanon languish.

He

Mountains (K)quake because of Him,

Vav

And the hills (L)melt;
Indeed the earth is (M)upheaved by His presence,
The (N)world and all the inhabitants in it.

Zayin

(O)Who can stand before His indignation?
Who can endure the (P)burning of His anger?

Heth

His (Q)wrath is poured out like fire,
And the (R)rocks are torn down by Him.

Teth

Yahweh is (S)good,
A strong defense in the day of distress,

Yodh

And (T)He knows those who take refuge in Him.
But with an (U)overflowing flood

Kaph

He will make a complete destruction of [d]its place
And will pursue His enemies into (V)darkness.

Whatever you (W)devise against Yahweh,
He will make a (X)complete destruction of it.
Distress will not rise up twice.
10 Like tangled (Y)thorns,
And like those who are (Z)drunken with their drink,
They are (AA)consumed
As stubble fully dried up.
11 From you has gone forth
One who (AB)devised evil against Yahweh,
A [e](AC)vile counselor.

12 Thus says Yahweh,

“Though they are at full strength and likewise many,
Even so, they will be (AD)cut off and pass away.
Though I have afflicted you,
I will afflict you (AE)no longer.
13 So now, I will (AF)break his yoke bar from upon you,
And I will break your bands apart.”

Revelation 14:12-20

12 Here is (A)the perseverance of the saints who (B)keep the commandments of God and [a](C)their faith in Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘(D)Blessed are the dead who (E)die in the Lord from now on!’” “Yes,” (F)says the Spirit, “so that they may (G)rest from their labors, for their (H)deeds follow with them.”

Reaping the Earth’s Harvest

14 Then I looked, and behold, a (I)white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one (J)like [b]a son of man, having a golden (K)crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. 15 And another angel (L)came out of the sanctuary, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sits on the cloud, “[c](M)Put in Your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the (N)harvest of the earth [d]is ripe.” 16 Then He who sits on the cloud [e]swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.

17 And another angel (O)came out of the sanctuary which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18 Then another angel, (P)the one who has authority over fire, came out from (Q)the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “[f](R)Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters [g]from the vine of the earth, (S)because her grapes are ripe.” 19 So the angel [h]swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into (T)the great wine press of the wrath of God. 20 And (U)the wine press was trodden (V)outside the city, and (W)blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses’ bridles, [i]for a distance of [j]1,600 stadia.
