Version
Psalm 86:11-17

11 (A)Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
(B)Unite my heart to fear Your name.
12 I will (C)give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And will glorify Your name forever.
13 For Your lovingkindness toward me is great,
And You have (D)delivered my soul from the [a]depths of [b]Sheol.

14 O God, arrogant men have (E)risen up against me,
And [c]a band of violent men have sought my [d]life,
And they have not set You before them.
15 But You, O Lord, are a God (F)merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and [e]truth.
16 (G)Turn to me, and be gracious to me;
Oh (H)grant Your strength to Your servant,
And save the (I)son of Your handmaid.
17 (J)Show me a sign for good,
That those who hate me may (K)see it and be ashamed,
Because You, O Lord, (L)have helped me and comforted me.

Isaiah 41:21-29

21 [a]Present your case,” the Lord says.
“Bring forward your strong arguments,”
The (A)King of Jacob says.
22 (B)Let them bring forth and declare to us what is going to take place;
As for the (C)former events, declare what they were,
That we may consider them and know their outcome.
Or announce to us what is coming;
23 (D)Declare the things that are going to come afterward,
That we may know that you are gods;
Indeed, (E)do good or evil, that we may anxiously look about us and fear together.
24 Behold, (F)you are of [b]no account,
And (G)your work amounts to nothing;
He who chooses you is an (H)abomination.

25 “I have aroused (I)one from the north, and he has come;
From the rising of the sun he will call on My name;
And he will come upon rulers as upon (J)mortar,
Even as the potter treads clay.”
26 Who has (K)declared this from the beginning, that we might know?
Or from former times, that we may say, “He is right!”?
Surely there was (L)no one who declared,
Surely there was no one who proclaimed,
Surely there was no one who heard your words.
27 (M)Formerly I said to Zion, ‘Behold, here they are.’
And to Jerusalem, ‘I will give a (N)messenger of good news.’
28 “But (O)when I look, there is no one,
And there is no (P)counselor [c]among them
Who, if I ask, can (Q)give an answer.
29 “Behold, all of them are [d]false;
Their (R)works are (S)worthless,
Their molten images are (T)wind and emptiness.

Hebrews 2:1-9

Give Heed

For this reason we must pay much closer attention to [a]what we have heard, so that (A)we do not drift away from it. For if the word (B)spoken through (C)angels proved [b]unalterable, and (D)every transgression and disobedience received a just [c](E)penalty, (F)how will we escape if we neglect so great a (G)salvation? [d]After it was at the first (H)spoken through the Lord, it was (I)confirmed to us by those who heard, God also testifying with them, both by (J)signs and wonders and by (K)various [e]miracles and by [f](L)gifts of the Holy Spirit (M)according to His own will.

Earth Subject to Man

For He did not subject to angels [g](N)the world to come, concerning which we are speaking. But one has testified (O)somewhere, saying,

(P)What is man, that You remember him?
Or the son of man, that You are concerned about him?
(Q)You have made him [h]for a little while lower than the angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor,
[i]And have appointed him over the works of Your hands;
(R)You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”

For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now (S)we do not yet see all things subjected to him.

Jesus Briefly Humbled

But we do see Him who was (T)made [j]for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, (U)because of the suffering of death (V)crowned with glory and honor, so that (W)by the grace of God He might (X)taste death (Y)for everyone.
