Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
Sing of the Lovingkindness of Yahweh Forever
A [a]Maskil of [b]Ethan [c]the Ezrahite.
89 I will (A)sing of the lovingkindnesses of Yahweh forever;
From generation to generation I will (B)make known Your (C)faithfulness with my mouth.
2 For I have said, “(D)Lovingkindness will be built up forever;
In the heavens You will establish Your (E)faithfulness.”
3 “I have cut a covenant with (F)My chosen;
I have (G)sworn to David My [d]servant,
4 I will establish your (H)seed forever
And build up your (I)throne from generation to generation.” [e]Selah.
15 How blessed are the people who know the (A)loud shout of joy!
O Yahweh, they walk in the (B)light of Your face.
16 In (C)Your name they rejoice all the day,
And by Your righteousness they are exalted.
17 For You are the beauty of (D)their strength,
And by Your favor [a]our (E)horn is exalted.
18 For our (F)shield belongs to Yahweh,
[b]And our king to the (G)Holy One of Israel.
Hananiah’s Rebellion Against Yahweh
28 Now it happened in the same year, (A)in the beginning of the reign of (B)Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that (C)Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was from (D)Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of Yahweh in the sight of the priests and all the people, saying, 2 “(E)Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, ‘I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. 3 Within two years I am going to return to this place (F)all the vessels of the house of Yahweh, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon. 4 I am (G)also going to return to this place (H)Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the (I)exiles of Judah who went to Babylon,’ declares Yahweh, ‘for I will break the (J)yoke of the king of Babylon.’”
Do All Which Jesus Commands
17 Now He said to His disciples, “(A)It is [a]inevitable that [b]stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! 2 (B)It [c]would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble. 3 [d]Be on your guard! (C)If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you (D)seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ [e]forgive him.”
