105 Praise the LORD! Call upon His Name! Declare His works among the people!

² Sing to Him! Sing praise to Him! Talk of all His wondrous works!

³ Rejoice in His Holy Name! Let the heart of those who seek the LORD, rejoice!

⁴ Seek the LORD and His strength. Seek His face continually.

⁵ Remember His marvelous works that He has done, His wonders and the judgments of His mouth

⁶ you seed of Abraham His servant, you children of Jacob who are His Elect.

⁷ He is the LORD our God. His judgments are through all the Earth.

⁸ He has always remembered His Covenant promise that He made to a thousand generations

⁹ (which he made with Abraham) and his oath to Isaac.

¹⁰ And He has since confirmed it to Jacob for a Law, and to Israel for an everlasting Covenant,

¹¹ saying, “To You I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance,”

³⁷ He also brought them forth with silver and gold, and there was no one feeble among their tribes.

³⁸ Egypt was glad at their departing, for the fear of them had fallen upon them.

³⁹ He spread a cloud to be a covering, and fire to give light in the night.

⁴⁰ They asked, and He brought quails; and He filled them with the bread of Heaven.

⁴¹ He opened the rock and the water flowed out and ran like a river in the dry places.

⁴² For He remembered His Holy Promise to Abraham, His servant.

⁴³ And He brought forth His people with joy and his chosen with gladness,

⁴⁴ and gave them the lands of the heathen. And they took the labors of the people in possession,

⁴⁵ so that they might keep His statutes and observe His Laws. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD

1 Now after the death of Moses, the servant of the LORD, the LORD spoke to Joshua, the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,

² “Moses, My servant, is dead. Therefore, arise now, go over the Jordan— you and all this people—to the land which I give them; to the children of Israel.

³ “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon I have given you (as I said to Moses),

⁴ “from the wilderness and this Lebanon to the great river (the river Perath). All the land of the Hittites, even to the Great Sea, toward the going down of the Sun, shall be your territory.

⁵ “There shall not be a man able to withstand you, all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, I will be with you. I will neither leave you nor forsake you.

⁶ “Be strong and of a good courage. For to this people you shall divide the land, for an inheritance, which I swore to their fathers to give them.

⁷ “Only, be strong and of a most valiant courage, so that you may observe and do according to all the Law which Moses, My servant, has commanded you. You shall not turn away from it — to the right hand or to the left — so that you may be wise, wherever you go.

⁸ “Let not this Book of the Torah depart out of your mouth, but meditate on it day and night, so that you may observe and do according to all that is written therein. For then you shall make your way prosperous; and then you shall have good success.

⁹ “Have I not commanded you, saying, ‘Be strong and of a good courage; do not fear or be discouraged’? For I, the LORD your God, will be with you wherever you go.”

¹⁰ Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

¹¹ “Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves. For after three days you shall pass over the Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God gives you to possess.’”

3 Therefore, since we could endure it no longer, we thought it good to remain at Athens alone;

² and have sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God and our fellow laborer in the Gospel of Christ, to establish you and to comfort you regarding your faith;

³ so that no one would be disturbed by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.

⁴ For truly we told you before (when we were with you) that we would suffer tribulations even as it happened. And you know it.

⁵ For this reason, when I could no longer bear it, I sent him. So that I might know of your faith, lest the tempter had tempted you in any way and that our labor had been in vain.
