Psalm 100

Psalm 100

Be Thankful

A psalm of thanksgiving.

Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the Lord!(A)
Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.(B)
Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He made us, and we are his[a](C)
his people, the sheep of his pasture.(D)
Enter his gates with thanksgiving(E)
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.(F)
For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever;
his faithfulness, through all generations.

Exodus 4:27-31

Reunion of Moses and Aaron

27 Now the Lord had said to Aaron, “Go and meet Moses in the wilderness.” So he went and met him at the mountain of God and kissed him.(A) 28 Moses told Aaron everything the Lord had sent him to say, and about all the signs he had commanded him to do. 29 Then Moses and Aaron went and assembled all the elders of the Israelites. 30 Aaron repeated everything the Lord had said to Moses and performed the signs before the people. 31 The people believed, and when they heard that the Lord had paid attention(B) to them and that he had seen their misery,(C) they knelt low and worshiped.

Acts 7:35-43

35 “This Moses, whom they rejected when they said, Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?[a]—this one God sent as a ruler and a deliverer through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.(A) 36 This man led them out and performed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt,(B) at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.(C)

Israel’s Rebellion against God

37 “This is the Moses who said to the Israelites: God[b] will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.[c](D) 38 He is the one who was in the assembly in the wilderness, with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors.(E) He received living oracles to give to us.(F) 39 Our ancestors were unwilling to obey him. Instead, they pushed him aside, and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.(G) 40 They told Aaron: Make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what’s happened to him.[d](H) 41 They even made a calf in those days, offered sacrifice to the idol, and were celebrating what their hands had made.(I) 42 God turned away(J) and gave them up to worship(K) the stars of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets:

House of Israel, did you bring me offerings and sacrifices
for forty years in the wilderness?
43 You took up the tent of Moloch
and the star of your god Rephan,
the images that you made to worship.
So I will send you into exile beyond Babylon.[e](L)
