116 I love the Lord, because He hath heard my voice and my supplications.

² Because He hath inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live.

³ The sorrows of death encompassed me, and the pains of hell got hold upon me; I found trouble and sorrow.

⁴ Then I called upon the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I beseech Thee, deliver my soul!”

¹² What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits toward me?

¹³ I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord.

¹⁴ I will pay my vows unto the Lord now, in the presence of all His people.

¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

¹⁶ O Lord, truly I am Thy servant; I am Thy servant and the son of Thine handmaid; Thou hast loosed my bonds.

¹⁷ I will offer to Thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

¹⁸ I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all His people,

¹⁹ in the courts of the Lord’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord!

25 O Lord, Thou art my God. I will exalt Thee, I will praise Thy name, for Thou hast done wonderful things; Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

² For Thou hast made of a city a heap, of a fortified city a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be rebuilt.

³ Therefore shall the strong people glorify Thee; the city of the terrible nations shall fear Thee.

⁴ For Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

⁵ Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place, even the heat with the shadow of a cloud; the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

⁸ whom having not seen, ye love. In Him, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory,

⁹ receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

¹⁰ Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, and have prophesied of the grace that should come unto you,

¹¹ searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them had signified when He testified beforehand of the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow.

¹² Unto them it was revealed that they ministered, not unto themselves, but unto us the things which are now reported unto you by those who have preached the Gospel unto you, with the Holy Ghost sent down from Heaven — things which the angels desire to look into.
