¹⁴ But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said to them, “You men of Judea! All you who inhabit Jerusalem! Be it known to you and hear my words!

²² “You men of Israel! Hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a proven man of God among you, through great works and wonders and signs which God did through him in the midst of you (as you yourselves also know),

²³ “whom, after you had taken, crucified and killed with wicked hands (being delivered by the determinate decree and foreknowledge of God),

²⁴ “and Whom God has raised up, having released the sorrows of death because it was impossible for Him to be held by it,

²⁵ “(for David says concerning Him, ‘I beheld the Lord always before me. For He is at my right hand, so that I should not be shaken.

²⁶ ‘Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad, and moreover my flesh shall also rest in hope.

²⁷ ‘Because You will not leave my soul in the grave. Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

²⁸ ‘You have shown me the ways of life and shall make me full of joy with Your countenance.’

²⁹ “Men, brothers, I may boldly say to you of the patriarch David that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher remains with us to this day.

³⁰ “Therefore, seeing he was a Prophet, and knew that God had sworn an oath to him that He would raise up Christ in the flesh from the fruit of his loins, to set Him upon his throne,

³¹ “he, knowing this beforehand, spoke of the resurrection of Christ - that His soul should not be left in the grave, nor should His flesh see corruption.

³² “God has raised up this Jesus. Of which we are all witnesses.

16 Preserve me, O God. For in You do I trust.

² O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my LORD. My goodness is not, but for You.”

³ To the saints who are on the Earth, and to the excellent, all my delight is in them.

⁴ The sorrows of those who offer to another god shall be multiplied. Their offerings of blood I will not offer; nor make mention of their names with my lips.

⁵ The LORD is the portion of my inheritance, and of my cup. You shall maintain my lot.

⁶ The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Indeed, I have a fair heritage.

⁷ I will praise the LORD Who has given me counsel. My core also teaches me in the nights.

⁸ I have set the LORD always before me. For He is at my right hand. Therefore, I shall not slide.

⁹ Therefore, my heart is glad. And my tongue rejoices. My flesh, also, rests in hope.

¹⁰ For You will not leave my soul in the grave. Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

¹¹ You will show me the path of life. In Your presence is the fullness of joy. And at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. The prayer of David.

³ Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who, according to His abundant mercy, has begotten us again to a living hope by the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ,

⁴ to an immortal and undefiled inheritance which does not wither, reserved in Heaven for us

⁵ who are kept for salvation through faith by the power of God (which is prepared to be revealed in the last time

⁶ and in which you rejoice. Though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through various trials

⁷ so that the trial of your faith—being much more precious than gold, which perishes even though it is tried with fire—might be found to your praise, honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ,

⁸ Whom you have not seen and yet love; in Whom now, though you do not see Him, you still believe and rejoice with unspeakable and glorious joy,

⁹ receiving the purpose of your faith: the salvation of your souls).

¹⁹ The evening of the same day (which was the first of the week), when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, and said to them, “Peace to you.”

²⁰ And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples rejoiced, having seen the Lord.

²¹ Then Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you. As My Father sent Me, so I send you.”

²² And when He had said that, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Ghost.”

²³ “Whoever’s sins you forgive, they are forgiven them. And whoever’s sins you retain, they are retained.”

²⁴ But Thomas, one of the twelve (called Didymus) was not with them when Jesus came.

²⁵ Therefore, the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in His hands and put my finger into the mark of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe it!”

²⁶ And eight days later, His disciples were inside again and Thomas with them. Then Jesus came (when the doors were shut) and stood in their midst, and said, “Peace to you.”

²⁷ Afterward, He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here. And see My hands. And put forth your hand and put it into My side. And do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

²⁸ Then Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord, and my God!”

²⁹ Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you believe. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

³⁰ And Jesus also did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this Book.

³¹ But these things are written so that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. And that in believing, you might have life, through His Name.
