Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
Version
Psalm 31:9-16

Be gracious to me, Lord,
because I am in distress;(A)
my eyes are worn out from angry sorrow—
my whole being[a] as well.(B)
10 Indeed, my life is consumed with grief
and my years with groaning;(C)
my strength has failed
because of my sinfulness,[b]
and my bones waste away.(D)
11 I am ridiculed by all my adversaries
and even by my neighbors.
I am dreaded by my acquaintances;
those who see me in the street run from me.(E)
12 I am forgotten: gone from memory
like a dead person—like broken pottery.(F)
13 I have heard the gossip of many;
terror is on every side.(G)
When they conspired against me,
they plotted to take my life.(H)

14 But I trust in You, Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”(I)
15 The course of my life is in Your power;(J)
deliver me from the power of my enemies
and from my persecutors.(K)
16 Show Your favor to Your servant;
save me by Your faithful love.(L)

Lamentations 3:55-66

ק Qof

55 I called on Your name, Yahweh,
from the depths of the Pit.(A)
56 You hear my plea:
Do not ignore my cry for relief.
57 You come near when I call on You;
You say: “Do not be afraid.”

ר Resh

58 You defend my cause, Lord;(B)
You redeem my life.(C)
59 Lord, You see the wrong done to me;
judge my case.
60 You see all their malice,
all their plots against me.(D)

שׂ Sin/ שׁ Shin

61 Lord, You hear their insults,(E)
all their plots against me.
62 The slander[a] and murmuring of my opponents
attack me all day long.
63 When they sit and when they rise, look,
I am mocked by their songs.(F)

ת Tav

64 You will pay them back what they deserve, Lord,
according to the work of their hands.(G)
65 You will give them a heart filled with anguish.[b](H)
May Your curse be on them!
66 You will pursue them in anger and destroy them
under Your heavens.[c][d](I)

Mark 10:32-34

The Third Prediction of His Death

32 They(A) were on the road, going up to Jerusalem,(B) and Jesus was walking ahead of them. They were astonished, but those who followed Him were afraid.(C) Taking the Twelve aside again, He began to tell them the things that would happen to Him.(D)

33 “Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man(E) will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes,(F) and they will condemn Him to death. Then they will hand Him over to the Gentiles,(G) 34 and they will mock Him, spit on Him, flog[a] Him, and kill Him, and He will rise(H) after three days.”(I)
