Psalm 121

My Help Comes from Yahweh

A Song of Ascents.

121 I will (A)lift up my eyes to (B)the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My (C)help comes from Yahweh,
Who (D)made heaven and earth.
[a]He will not (E)allow your foot to stumble;
[b]He who (F)keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will not slumber and will not sleep.

Yahweh is your (G)keeper;
Yahweh is your (H)shade on your right hand.
The (I)sun will not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
Yahweh will (J)keep you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
Yahweh will (K)keep your going out and your coming in
(L)From now until forever.

Isaiah 51:4-8

(A)Pay attention to Me, O My people,
And give ear to Me, O My [a]nation;
For a (B)law will go forth from Me,
And I will [b]set My (C)justice for a (D)light of the peoples.
My (E)righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth,
And My (F)arms will judge the peoples;
The (G)coastlands will hope in Me,
And for My (H)arm they will wait expectantly.
(I)Lift up your eyes to the sky,
Then look to the earth beneath;
For the (J)sky will vanish like smoke,
And the (K)earth will wear out like a garment,
And its inhabitants will die [c]in like manner;
But My (L)salvation will be forever,
And My righteousness will not be dismayed.
(M)Listen to Me, you who know righteousness,
A people in whose (N)heart is My law;
Do not fear the (O)reproach of man,
Nor be dismayed at their revilings.
For the (P)moth will eat them like a garment,
And the (Q)grub will eat them like wool.
But My (R)righteousness will be forever,
And My salvation to all generations.”

Luke 7:1-10

The Centurion’s Faith

(A)When He had completed all His words in the hearing of the people, (B)He went to Capernaum.

And a centurion’s slave, [a]who was highly regarded by him, was sick and about to die. Now when he heard about Jesus, (C)he sent some [b]Jewish elders asking Him to come and [c]save the life of his slave. And when they came to Jesus, they were earnestly pleading with Him, saying, “He is worthy for You to grant this to him; for he loves our nation and it was he who built us our synagogue.” Now Jesus was going on His way with them; and when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, “[d]Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not good enough for You to come under my roof. For this reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You, but just [e]say the word, and my [f]servant will be healed. For I also am a man placed under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him. And He turned to the crowd that was following Him and said, “I say to you, (D)not even in Israel have I found such great faith.” 10 And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.
