⁶ You do not delight in sacrifice and offering;
You open my ears to listen.^[a]
You do not ask for a whole burnt offering or a sin offering.^(A)
7 Then I said, “See, I have come;
it is written about me in the volume of the scroll.^(B)
8 I delight to do Your will, my God;^(C)
Your instruction lives within me.”^[b](D)

⁹ I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
see, I do not keep my mouth closed^[c]—
as You know, Lord.^(E)
10 I did not hide Your righteousness in my heart;
I spoke about Your faithfulness and salvation;
I did not conceal Your constant love and truth
from the great assembly.^(F)

¹¹ Lord, do not withhold Your compassion from me;
Your constant love and truth will always guard me.^(G)
12 For troubles without number have surrounded me;
my sins have overtaken me; I am unable to see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my courage leaves me.^(H)
13 Lord, be pleased to deliver me;
hurry to help me, Lord.^(I)

¹⁴ Let those who seek to take my life
be disgraced and confounded.
Let those who wish me harm
be driven back and humiliated.^(J)
15 Let those who say to me, “Aha, aha!”
be horrified because of their shame.^(K)

¹⁶ Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
let those who love Your salvation continually say,
“The Lord is great!”^(L)
17 I am afflicted and needy;
the Lord thinks of me.
You are my helper and my deliverer;
my God, do not delay.^(M)

¹² “Listen to Me, Jacob,
and Israel, the one called by Me:
I am He; I am the first,
I am also the last.^(A)
13 My own hand founded the earth,
and My right hand spread out the heavens;^(B)
when I summoned them,
they stood up together.
¹⁴ All of you, assemble and listen!
Who among the idols^[a] has declared these things?
The Lord loves him;^[b]
he will accomplish His will against Babylon,^(C)
and His arm will be against the Chaldeans.
¹⁵ I—I have spoken;
yes, I have called him;^(D)
I have brought him,
and he will succeed in his mission.^(E)
16 Approach Me and listen to this.
From the beginning I have not spoken in secret;^(F)
from the time anything existed, I was there.”
And now the Lord God
has sent me and His Spirit.^(G)

I am Yahweh your God,
who teaches you for your benefit,
who leads you in the way you should go.
¹⁸ If only you had paid attention to My commands.
Then your peace would have been like a river,^(J)
and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.^(K)
19 Your descendants would have been as countless as the sand,^(L)
and the offspring of your body like its grains;
their name would not be cut off
or eliminated from My presence.

²⁰ Leave Babylon,
flee from the Chaldeans!
Declare with a shout of joy,
proclaim this,
let it go out to the end of the earth;
announce,
“The Lord has redeemed His servant^(M) Jacob!”
²¹ They did not thirst
when He led them through the deserts;
He made water flow for them from the rock;^(N)
He split the rock, and water gushed out.
