Isaiah 7:10-16

10 ¶ And the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying,

11 Ask [a]a sign for thee of the Lord thy God: ask it either in the depth beneath, or in the height above.

12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I [b]tempt the Lord.

13 Then he said, Hear you now, O house of David, is it a small thing for you to grieve [c]men, that ye will also grieve my God?

14 Therefore the Lord [d]himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and she shall call his name [e]Immanuel.

15 [f]Butter and honey shall he eat, till he have knowledge to refuse the evil, and to choose the good.

16 For afore the [g]child shall have knowledge to eschew the evil, and to choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest, shall be forsaken of both her kings.

Psalm 80:1-7

80 1 A lamentable prayer to God to help the miseries of his Church, 8 Desiring him to consider their first estate, when his favor shined toward them, to the intent that he might finish that work which he had begun.

To him that excelleth on Shoshannim Eduth, A Psalm committed to Asaph.

Hear, [a]O thou shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like sheep: show thy brightness, thou that sittest between the [b]Cherubims.

Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come to help us.

[c]Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine that we may be saved.

O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be [d]angry against the prayer of thy people?

Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink with great measure.

Thou hast made us a [e]strife unto our neighbors, and our enemies laugh at us among themselves.

[f]Turn us again, O God of hosts: cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

Psalm 80:17-19

17 Let thine hand be upon the [a]man of thy right hand, and upon the son of man, whom thou madest strong for thine own self.

18 So will not we go back from thee, [b]revive thou us, and we shall call upon thy Name.

19 Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts: cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

Romans 1:1-7

The Epistle of the Apostle Paul to the Romans

1 He first showeth on what authority his Apostleship standeth. 15 Then he commendeth the Gospel, 16 by which God setteth out his power to those that are saved, 17 by faith, 21 but were guilty of wicked unthankfulness to God: 26 For which his wrath was worthily powered on them, 29 so that they ran headlong to all kinds of sin.

PAUL [a]a [b][c]servant of JESUS Christ called to be an [d]Apostle, (A)[e]put apart to preach the Gospel of God,

(Which he had promised afore by his Prophets in the holy Scriptures)

[f]Concerning his [g]Son Jesus Christ our Lord (which was [h]made of the seed of David [i]according to the flesh,

And [j]declared [k]mightily to be the Son of God, touching the Spirit of sanctification by the resurrection from the dead)

[l]By whom we have received [m]grace and Apostleship (that [n]obedience might be given unto the faith) for his name [o]among all the Gentiles,

Among whom ye be also the [p]called of Jesus Christ:

To all you that be at Rome beloved of God, called to be Saints: [q]Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 1:18-25

18 ¶ Now the birth of [a]Jesus Christ was thus, When as his mother Mary was (A)betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband being a just man, and not willing to (B)make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

20 But while he thought these things, behold, the Angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, the son of David, fear not to [b]take Mary thy [c]wife: for that which is [d]conceived in her, is of the holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring [e]forth a son, and thou shalt (C)call his name JESUS: for he shall (D)[f]save his people from their sins.

22 And all this was done that it might be fulfilled, which is spoken of the Lord by the Prophet, saying,

23 (E)Behold, a [g]virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is by interpretation, God with us.

24 ¶ Then Joseph being raised from sleep, did as the Angel of the Lord had enjoined him, and took his wife.

25 But he knew her not, [h]till she had brought forth her first born son, and he called his name JESUS.
