Psalm 141

141 O LORD, I call upon You! Hurry to me! Hear my voice when I cry to You!

Let my prayer be directed in Your sight as incense, the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice.

Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Do not incline my heart to evil, so that I would commit wicked works with those who work iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies.

Let the righteous strike me; for that is a benefit. And let him reprove me; it shall be as a precious oil that shall not break my head. For after a while, I shall even pray in their miseries.

When their judges are cast down in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

Our bones lie scattered at the grave’s mouth, as he who hews or digs in the earth.

But my eyes look to You, O LORD God. In You is my trust. Do not leave my soul destitute.

Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I escape. A Psalm of David, to give instruction; and a prayer when he was in the cave

Ezekiel 39:21-40:4

21 “And I will set My Glory among the heathen. And all the heathen shall see My judgment that I have executed, and My Hand which I have laid upon them.

22 “So the House of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day forward.

23 “And the heathen shall know that the House of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they trespassed against Me. Therefore, I hid My Face from them and gave them into the hand of their enemies. So, they all fell by the sword.

24 “According to their uncleanness, and according to their transgressions, I have done to them, and hidden My Face from them.”’

25 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Now will I bring back the captives of Jacob, and have compassion upon the whole House of Israel, and will be jealous for My Holy Name,

26 ‘after they have borne their shame and all their transgression by which they have transgressed against Me, when they dwelt safely in their land and without fear of anyone.

27 ‘When I have brought them back from the people and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands and am sanctified in them, in the sight of many nations,

28 ‘then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, Who caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen. But I have gathered them to their own land and have left none of them there anymore.

29 ‘Nor will I hide My Face from them anymore. For I have poured out My Spirit upon the House of Israel,’ says the Lord GOD.”

40 In the twenty-fifth year of our being in captivity, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was stricken, on the same day, the Hand of the LORD was upon me, and brought me there.

Into the land of Israel He brought me, by a divine vision, and set me upon a very high mountain, upon which was something like the building of a city toward the South.

And He brought me there, and behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of bronze, with a linen thread in his hand and a reed with which to measure. And he stood at the gate.

And the man said to me, “Son of man, behold with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you. For you have been brought here with the intention that they might be shown to you. Declare all that you see to the House of Israel.”

1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1

23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not profitable. All things are lawful for me, but all things do not edify.

24 Let no one seek his own, but everyone another’s wealth.

25 Whatever is sold in the meat market, eat, and ask no question for conscience’ sake.

26 For the Earth is the Lord’s, and all that therein is.

27 If any unbelievers call you to a feast, and you are willing to go, whatever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience’ sake.

28 But if anyone says to you, ‘This is sacrificed to idols’, do not eat it, because of him who showed it, and for conscience’ sake (for the Earth is the Lord’s, and all that therein is),

29 and the conscience, I say, not of your own, but of the other. For why should my freedom be judged by another man’s conscience?

30 For if I, with gratitude, be a partaker, why am I maligned for that which I give thanks?

31 Therefore, whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

32 Give no offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Greeks, nor to the Church of God.

33 Just as I please all mankind in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they might be saved.

11 Be followers of me, just as I am of Christ.
