32 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

² Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

³ When I kept silent, my bones waxed old through my groaning all the day long.

⁴ For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me; the sap of my soul was turned into the drought of summer. Selah

⁵ I acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, “I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord,” and Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah

⁶ For this shall every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; surely the floods of great waters shall not come nigh unto him.

⁷ Thou art my hiding place; Thou shalt preserve me from trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah

1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

² Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the Lord hath spoken: “I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me.

³ The ox knoweth his owner and the ass his master’s crib; but Israel doth not know, My people doth not consider.”

⁴ Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they have gone away backward.

⁵ Why should ye be stricken anymore? Ye will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

⁶ From the sole of the foot even unto the head, there is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and putrefying sores; they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

⁷ Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire; your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

⁸ And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a shed in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

⁹ Unless the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

³⁹ They answered and said unto Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said unto them, “If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

⁴⁰ But now ye seek to kill Me, a Man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard from God: this did not Abraham.

⁴¹ Ye do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.”

⁴² Jesus said unto them, “If God were your Father, ye would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of Myself, but He sent Me.

⁴³ Why do ye not understand My speech? Even because ye cannot hear My Word!

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.

⁴⁵ And because I tell you the truth, ye believe Me not.

⁴⁶ Which of you convicteth Me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe Me?

⁴⁷ He that is of God heareth God’s words; ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.”
