Series of Kings: Azariah (Uzziah) over Judah

15 ^(A)In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah became king. ² He was ^(B)sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was ^[a]Jecoliah of Jerusalem. ³ He did right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done. ⁴ Only ^(C)the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. ^5 (D)The Lord struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death. And he ^(E)lived in a separate house, ^[b]while Jotham the king’s son was over the household, judging the people of the land. ⁶ Now the rest of the acts of Azariah and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? ⁷ And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Jotham his son became king in his place.

^5 (A)These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: “Do not ^[a]go ^[b]in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the ^(B)Samaritans; ⁶ but rather go to ^(C)the lost sheep of the house of Israel. ⁷ And as you go, ^[c]preach, saying, ‘^(D)The kingdom of heaven ^[d]is at hand.’ ⁸ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give. ^9 (E)Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, ¹⁰ or a ^[e]bag for your journey, or even two ^[f]coats, or sandals, or a staff; for ^(F)the worker is worthy of his ^[g]support. ¹¹ And whatever city or village you enter, inquire who is worthy in it, and stay ^[h]at his house until you leave that city. ¹² As you enter the ^[i]house, ^(G)give it your ^[j]greeting. ¹³ If the house is worthy, ^[k]give it your blessing of peace. But if it is not worthy, ^[l]take back your blessing of peace. ¹⁴ Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, ^(H)shake the dust off your feet. ¹⁵ Truly I say to you, ^(I)it will be more tolerable for the land of ^(J)Sodom and Gomorrah in ^(K)the day of judgment than for that city.
