2 Kings 5:1-3

1 Naaman the Syrian is healed of his leprosy. 16 Elisha refuseth his gifts. 27 Gehazi is stricken with leprosy, because he took money and raiment of Naaman.

Now was there one Naaman captain of the host of the King of Aram, a great man, and honorable in the sight of his lord, because that by him the Lord had [a]delivered the Aramites. He also was a mighty man and valiant, but a leper.

And the Aramites had gone out by bands, and had taken a little maid of the land of Israel, and she [b]served Naaman’s wife.

And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the [c]Prophet that is in Samaria, he would soon deliver him of his leprosy.

2 Kings 5:7-15

And when the king of Israel had read the letter, he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God to kill and to give life that he doth send to me, that I should heal a man from his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

But when Elisha the man of God had heard that the King of Israel had rent his clothes, he sent unto the King, saying, [a]Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a Prophet in Israel.

¶ Then Naaman came with his horses, and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash thee in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be cleansed.

11 But Naaman was [b]wroth and went away, and said, Behold, I thought with myself, He will surely come out, and stand, and call on the Name of the Lord his God, and put his hand on the place, and heal the leprosy.

12 Are not Abanah and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash me in them, and be cleansed? so he turned, and departed in displeasure.

13 But his servants came, and spake unto him, and said, [c]Father, if the Prophet had commanded thee a great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

14 Then went he down, and (A)washed himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again, like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

15 ¶ And he turned again to the man of God, he, and all his company, and came and stood before him, and said, Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the world but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a [d]reward of thy servant.

Psalm 111

111 1 He giveth thanks to the Lord for his merciful works toward his Church, 10 and declareth wherein true wisdom and right knowledge consisteth.

Praise ye the Lord.

I will [a]praise the Lord with my whole heart in the assembly and the congregation of the just.

The works of the Lord are [b]great, and ought to be sought out of all them that love them.

His work is beautiful and glorious, and his righteousness endureth forever.

He hath made his wonderful works to be had in remembrance: the Lord is merciful and full of compassion.

He hath given [c]a [d]portion unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

He hath showed to his people the power of his works, in giving unto them the heritage of the heathen.

The [e]works of his hands are truth and judgment: all his statutes are true.

They are established forever and ever, and are done in truth and equity.

He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant forever: holy and fearful is his Name.

10 [f]The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord: all they that observe [g]them, have good understanding: his praise endureth forever.

2 Timothy 2:8-15

[a]Remember that Jesus Christ, made of the seed of David, was raised again from the dead according to my Gospel,

[b]Wherein I suffer trouble as an evil doer, even unto bonds: but the word of God is not bound.

10 Therefore I suffer all things for the elect’s sake, that they might also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

11 [c]It is a true saying, For if we be (A)[d]dead together with him: we also shall live together with him.

12 If we suffer, we shall also reign together with him: (B)if we deny him, he also will deny us.

13 If (C)we believe not, yet abideth he faithful: he cannot deny himself.

14 Of these things put them in remembrance, and [e]protest before the Lord, that they strive not about words, which is to no profit, but to the perverting of the hearers.

15 [f]Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, dividing the word of truth [g]aright.

Luke 17:11-19

11 [a]And so it was when he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria, and Galilee.

12 And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off.

13 And they lifted up their voices and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, (A)Go, show yourselves unto the Priests. And it came to pass, that as they went, they were cleansed.

15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice praised God,

16 And fell down on his face at his feet, and gave him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

17 And Jesus answered, and said, Are there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

18 There is none found that returned to give God praise, save this stranger.

19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way, thy faith hath saved thee.
