Psalm 146

146 1 David declareth his great zeal that he hath to praise God. 3 And teacheth, not to trust in man, but only in God Almighty, 7 Which delivereth the afflicted,  9 Defendeth the strangers, comforteth the fatherless, and the widows, 10 And reigneth forever.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise thou the Lord, O my [a]soul.

I will praise the Lord during my life; as long as I have any being, I will sing unto my God.

Put not your trust in [b]Princes, nor in the son of man, for there is no help in him.

His breath departeth, and he returneth to his earth; then his [c]thoughts perish.

Blessed is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

Which made [d]heaven and earth, the sea, and all that therein is; which keepeth his fidelity forever,

Which executeth justice [e]for the oppressed, which giveth bread to the hungry; the Lord looseth the prisoners.

The Lord giveth sight to the blind: the Lord raiseth up the crooked: the Lord [f]loveth the righteous.

The Lord keepeth the [g]strangers: he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but he overthroweth the way of the wicked.

10 The Lord shall [h]reign forever: O Zion, thy God endureth from generation to generation. Praise ye the Lord.

Proverbs 28:3-10

A poor man, if he oppress the poor, is like a raging rain that leaveth no food.

They that forsake the Law, praise the wicked: but they that keep the Law, set themselves against them.

Wicked men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord, understand all things.

(A)Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that perverteth his ways, though he be rich.

He that keepeth the Law, is a child of understanding: but he that feedeth the gluttons, shameth his father.

He that increaseth his riches by usury and interest, gathereth [a]them for him that will be merciful unto the poor.

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the Law, even his prayer shall be [b]abominable.

10 He that causeth the righteous to go astray by an evil way, shall fall into his own pit, and the upright shall inherit good things.

Ephesians 2:1-10

1 The better to set out the grace of Christ, he useth a comparison, calling them to mind, 5 that they were altogether castaways and aliants, 8 that they are saved by grace, 13 and brought near, 16 by reconciliation through Christ, 17 published by the Gospel.

And (A)[a]you hath he quickened, that were [b]dead in [c]trespasses and sins,

[d]Wherein, in times past ye walked, [e]according to the course of this world, and [f]after the prince that ruleth in the air, even the spirit, that now [g]worketh in the [h]children of disobedience,

[i]Among whom we also had our conversation in time past in the lusts of our [j]flesh, in fulfilling the will of the flesh, and of the mind, and [k]were by nature the [l]children of wrath, as well as [m]others.

[n]But God which is rich in mercy, through his great love wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead by sins, hath quickened us together in Christ, by whose grace ye are saved,

And hath raised us up [o]together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

That he might show in the ages to come the exceeding riches of his grace through his kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

For by [p]grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God,

[q]Not of works, lest any man should boast himself.

10 For we are [r]his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath ordained, that we should walk in them.
