Psalm 25:1-10

Psalm 25

Dependence on the Lord

Of David.

Lord, I appeal to you.[a](A)
My God, I trust in you.
Do not let me be disgraced;(B)
do not let my enemies gloat over me.(C)
No one who waits for you
will be disgraced;(D)
those who act treacherously without cause
will be disgraced.(E)

Make your ways known to me, Lord;
teach me your paths.(F)
Guide me in your truth and teach me,(G)
for you are the God of my salvation;(H)
I wait for you all day long.(I)
Remember, Lord, your compassion
and your faithful love,
for they have existed from antiquity.[b](J)
Do not remember the sins of my youth(K)
or my acts of rebellion;(L)
in keeping with your faithful love, remember me
because of your goodness, Lord.(M)

The Lord is good and upright;(N)
therefore he shows sinners the way.(O)
He leads the humble in what is right(P)
and teaches them his way.(Q)
10 All the Lord’s ways show faithful love and truth
to those who keep his covenant and decrees.(R)

Leviticus 19:1-4

Laws of Holiness

19 The Lord spoke to Moses: “Speak to the entire Israelite community and tell them: Be holy(A) because I, the Lord your God, am holy.(B)

“Each of you is to respect his mother and father.(C) You are to keep my Sabbaths; I am the Lord your God. Do not turn to worthless idols(D) or make cast images(E) of gods for yourselves;(F) I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 19:32-37

32 “You are to rise in the presence of the elderly and honor the old.(A) Fear your God; I am the Lord.

33 “When an alien resides with you in your land, you must not oppress(B) him. 34 You will regard the alien who resides with you as the native-born among you. You are to love him as yourself,(C) for you were aliens in the land of Egypt;(D) I am the Lord your God.

35 “Do not be unfair(E) in measurements of length, weight, or volume. 36 You are to have honest balances,(F) honest weights, an honest dry measure,[a] and an honest liquid measure;[b](G) I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. 37 Keep all my statutes and all my ordinances and do them; I am the Lord.”

John 3:16-21

16 For God loved(A) the world in this way:[a] He gave[b] his one and only(B) Son,(C) so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.(D) 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn(E) the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Anyone who believes in him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned,(F) because he has not believed in the name(G) of the one and only Son(H) of God. 19 This is the judgment: The light(I) has come into the world,(J) and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates(K) the light and avoids it,[c] so that his deeds(L) may not be exposed. 21 But anyone who lives by[d] the truth comes to the light, so that his works(M) may be shown to be accomplished by God.”
