Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
64 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the rage of the works of iniquity
3 which have whet their tongue like a sword and shot bitter words for their arrows,
4 to shoot at the upright in secret. They shoot at him suddenly and do not fear.
5 They encourage themselves in a wicked purpose. They commune together to lay snares privately, saying, “Who shall see them?”
6 They have sought out iniquities and have accomplished that which they sought. Everyone’s inward thoughts and depth of heart are both deep.
7 But God will shoot an arrow at them suddenly. Their strokes shall be sudden.
8 They shall cause them to fall upon their own tongue. Whoever shall see them shall flee away.
9 And all men shall see it and declare the work of God; and they shall understand what He has wrought.
10 But the righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and trust in Him; and all who are upright in heart shall rejoice. To him who excels: A psalm or song of David
32 And in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first day of the month, the Word of the LORD came to me, saying:
2 “Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and say to him, ‘You are like a lion of the nations, and are as a dragon in the sea. You cast out your rivers and troubled the waters with your feet and stamped in their rivers.’”
3 Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will therefore spread My net over you with a great multitude of people. And they shall make you come up into My net.
4 “Then I will leave you upon the land. I will cast you upon the open field; and I will cause all the birds of the sky to remain upon you; and I will fill all the beasts of the field with you.
5 “And I will lay your flesh upon the mountains and fill the valleys with your corpses.
6 “I will also water the land with the discharge of your blood, up to the mountains. And the rivers shall be full of you.
7 “And when I shall put you out, I will cover the sky and make its stars dark. I will cover the Sun with a cloud; and the Moon shall not give her light.
8 “I will make all the lights of heaven dark over you, and bring darkness upon your land,” says the Lord GOD.
9 “I will also trouble the hearts of many people when I shall bring your destruction among the nations, and upon the countries which you have not known.
10 “Yea, I will make many people amazed at you; and their kings shall be astonished with fear of you when I shall make My sword glitter against their faces. And they shall be afraid at every moment, every man for his own life, on the day of your fall.”
37 And it happened that on the next day, as they came down from the mountain, many people met Him.
38 And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, saying, “Master, I beg You! Look upon my son! For he is all that I have!
39 “And lo, a spirit takes him, and suddenly he cries. And he convulses him, so that he foams at the mouth. And when he has bruised him, he departs from him roughly.
40 “Now I have begged Your disciples to cast him out, but they could not.
41 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation! How long now shall I be with you, and bear with you? Bring your son here.”
42 And while He was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and returned him to his father.
43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. And while they all wondered at all the things which Jesus did, He said to His disciples,
