Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
5 Hear my words, O LORD. Understand my meditation.
2 Hear the voice of my cry, my King and my God. For to you I pray.
3 Hear my voice in the morning, O LORD. In the morning I will direct myself to You, and I will wait.
4 For You are not a God Who loves wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with You.
5 The foolish shall not stand in Your sight. You hate all those who work iniquity.
6 You shall destroy those who speak lies. The LORD will abhor the bloody man, and deceitful.
7 But I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy. In Your fear I will worship toward Your Holy Temple.
8 Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness, because of my enemies. Make Your way plain before my face.
9 For no constancy is in their mouth. Inside they are very corruption. Their throat is an open sepulcher. They flatter with their tongue.
10 Destroy them, O God. Let them fall from their counsels. Cast them out for the multitude of their iniquities, because they have rebelled against You.
11 And let all those who trust in You rejoice, and triumph forever. And cover them. And let those who love Your Name rejoice in You.
12 For You, LORD, will bless the righteous. You will surround him with favor, as with a shield. To him who excels on Neginoth, upon the eight tune: A Psalm of David.
9 And the Word of the LORD came to me, saying:
10 “Take from those of the captivity, of Heldai and of Tobijah and Jedaiah, who have come from Babel. And you come the same day, and go to the House of Josiah, the son of Zephaniah.
11 “Take silver and gold and make crowns. And set them upon the head of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak the High Priest,
12 “And speak to him, saying, ‘Thus speaks the LORD of Hosts, and says: “Behold, the Man whose name is the Branch. And He shall grow up out of his place. And He shall build the Temple of the LORD.
13 “He shall build the Temple of the LORD and He shall bear the Glory and shall sit and rule upon His Throne. And He shall be a Priest upon His Throne. And the Counsel of Peace shall be between them both.
14 “And the crowns shall be for Helem and for Tobijah and for Jedaiah and for Hen, the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the Temple of the LORD.
15 “And those who are far off shall come and build in the Temple of the LORD. And you shall know that the LORD of Hosts has sent me to you. And this shall happen at that time if you will obey the voice of the LORD your God.”’”
3 Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who, according to His abundant mercy, has begotten us again to a living hope by the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ,
4 to an immortal and undefiled inheritance which does not wither, reserved in Heaven for us
5 who are kept for salvation through faith by the power of God (which is prepared to be revealed in the last time
6 and in which you rejoice. Though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through various trials
7 so that the trial of your faith—being much more precious than gold, which perishes even though it is tried with fire—might be found to your praise, honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ,
8 Whom you have not seen and yet love; in Whom now, though you do not see Him, you still believe and rejoice with unspeakable and glorious joy,
9 receiving the purpose of your faith: the salvation of your souls).
