Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
18 And the Lord hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it; then Thou showed me their doings.
19 But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, “Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.”
20 But, O Lord of hosts, who judgest righteously, who triest the reins and the heart, let me see Thy vengeance on them, for unto Thee have I revealed my cause.
54 Save me, O God, by Thy name, and judge me by Thy strength.
2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul; they have not set God before them. Selah
4 Behold, God is mine helper; the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies; cut them off in Thy truth.
6 I will freely sacrifice unto Thee; I will praise Thy name, O Lord, for it is good.
7 For He hath delivered me out of all trouble, and mine eye hath seen my desire upon mine enemies.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him show his works out of good conduct and with the meekness of wisdom.
14 But if ye have bitter envy and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 Such wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envy and strife are, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of those who make peace.
4 From whence come wars and fightings among you? Do they not come even from your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not; ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain. Ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye doubleminded.
30 And they departed thence and passed through Galilee, and He would not that any man should know it.
31 For He taught His disciples and said unto them, “The Son of Man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill Him; and after He is killed, He shall rise the third day.”
32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask Him.
33 And He came to Capernaum; and being in the house, He asked them, “What was it that ye disputed among yourselves on the way?”
34 But they held their peace, for on the way they had disputed among themselves as to who should be the greatest.
35 And He sat down, and called the twelve and said unto them, “If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all and servant of all.”
36 And He took a child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said unto them,
37 “Whosoever shall receive one of such children in My name, receiveth Me; and whosoever shall receive Me, receiveth not Me, but Him that sent Me.”
