Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
1 ¶ Halelu-JAH. Praise the LORD, O my soul.
2 In my life I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises unto my God while I live.
3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man in whom there is no salvation.
4 His spirit shall go forth, he shall return to his earth; in that very day all his thoughts shall perish.
5 ¶ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God;
6 who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keeps truth for ever:
7 He who does justice unto the oppressed; who gives bread to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners:
8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; the LORD raises those that are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous:
9 The LORD preserves the strangers; he raises up the fatherless and widow; but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
10 The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Halelu-JAH.
32 ¶ Behold, one king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall preside unto judgment.
2 And that man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a hot land.
3 And the eyes of those that see shall not be dim, and the ears of those that hear shall hearken.
4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
5 The vile person shall no longer be called liberal, nor the greedy said to be bountiful.
6 For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will invent iniquity to work unrighteousness and to speak scornfully against the LORD, leaving the soul of the hungry empty and taking away the drink of the thirsty.
7 Certainly the greedy use evil measures: he devises wicked devices to ensnare the simple with lying words and to speak in judgment against the poor.
8 But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things shall he rise.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law
13 (for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified;
14 for when the Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature that which is of the law, these, not having the law, are a law unto themselves;
15 which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, accusing and also excusing their reasonings one with another)
16 in the day when God shall judge that which men have covered up, according to my gospel by Jesus, the Christ.
