Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
106 Praise the LORD because He is good; for His mercy endures forever!
2 Who can express the noble acts of the LORD, or proclaim all His praise?
3 Blessed are those who guard justice and do righteousness at all times.
4 Remember me, O LORD, with the favor of Your people. Visit me with Your salvation,
5 so that I may see the good things of Your chosen and rejoice in the joy of Your people, and glory with Your inheritance.
6 We have sinned with our Fathers. We have committed iniquity and done wickedly.
13 But they soon forgot His works. They did not wait for His counsel,
14 but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted God in the desert.
15 Then He gave them their desire. But He sent leanness into their soul.
16 They also envied Moses in the tents, and Aaron, the saint of the LORD.
17 The Earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.
18 And the fire was kindled in their assembly; the flame burnt up the wicked.
19 They made a calf in Horeb and worshipped the molten image.
20 Thus, they turned their glory into the likeness of a bullock that eats grass.
21 They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,
22 wondrous works in the land of Ham, and fearful things by the Red Sea.
23 Therefore, He intended to destroy them had not Moses, His chosen, stood in the breach before Him, to turn away His wrath lest He should destroy them.
47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, so that we may praise Your Holy Name and glory in Your praise.
48 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, forever and ever; and let all the people say, “So be it! Praise the LORD!”
15 “Therefore, take good heed to yourselves (for you saw no image on the day that the LORD spoke to you in Horeb, out of the midst of the fire)
16 “so that you do not corrupt yourselves and make yourself a graven image or representation of any figure (the likeness of male or female,
17 “the likeness of any beast that is on Earth, the likeness of any feathered fowl that flies in the air,
18 “the likeness of anything that creeps on the Earth, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the Earth)
19 “and lest you lift up your eyes to Heaven, and when you see the Sun and the Moon and the stars with all the host of Heaven, be driven to worship them and serve them which the LORD your God has distributed to all people under the whole Heaven.
20 “But the LORD has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be to Him a people and inheritance, as it is this day.
19 For this is grace: if anyone - for the sake of conscience toward God - endures grief, suffering wrongly.
20 For what praise is it, if when you are mistreated for your faults, you take it patiently? But if you suffer when you do well, and take it patiently, this is acceptable to God.
21 For you are called to this. For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you could follow His steps.
22 “He did no sin. Nor was there guile found in His mouth.”
23 When He was reviled, He did not revile in return. When He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed it to Him Who judges righteously.
24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we, being dead to sin, would live in righteousness. “By His wounds you were healed.”
25 For you were as sheep, going astray, but now are returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
