¹⁵ The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous; and His ears are open to their cry.

¹⁶ The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off their remembrance from the Earth.

¹⁷ The righteous cry and the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ The LORD is near to those who are of a contrite heart; and will save such as are afflicted in spirit.

¹⁹ Great are the troubles of the righteous. But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

²⁰ He keeps all His bones. Not one of them is broken.

²¹ Malice shall slay the wicked; and those who hate the righteous shall perish.

²² The LORD redeems the souls of His servants; and no one who trusts in Him shall perish. A Psalm of David.

22 Then Joshua called the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

² and said to them, “You have kept all that Moses the servant of the LORD Commanded you and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you.

³ “You have not forsaken your brethren this long season, until this day, but have diligently kept the Commandment of the LORD your God.

⁴ “And now, the LORD has given rest to your brethren, as He promised them. Therefore, now, return. And go to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses, the servant of the LORD, has given you, beyond Jordan.

⁵ “But take diligent care to do the Commandment and Law which Moses, the servant of the LORD, commanded you: that you love the LORD your God and walk in all His ways and keep His Commandments and cling to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

⁶ So Joshua blessed them and sent them away. And they went to their tents.

⁷ Now, to half of the tribe of Manasseh, Moses had given a possession in Bashan. And to half of it, Joshua gave from among their brethren on this side of Jordan, westward. Therefore, when Joshua sent them away to their tents and blessed them,

⁸ he spoke to them, saying, “Return to your tents with many riches and with a great multitude of cattle, with silver and with gold, with bronze and with iron, and with great abundance of clothing. Divide the plunder of your enemies with your brethren.”

⁹ So, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and half the tribe of Manasseh returned and departed from the children of Israel, from Shiloh (which is in the land of Canaan) to go to the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they had obtained according to the Word of the LORD, by the hand of Moses.

5 But of the times and seasons, brothers, you have no need for me to write to you.

² For you yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night.

³ For when they shall say “Peace and safety”, then sudden destruction shall come upon them, as labor upon a woman with child. And they shall not escape.

⁴ But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that that day shall come on you as a thief.

⁵ You are all children of light, and children of the Day. We are not of the night, nor of darkness.

⁶ Therefore let us not sleep as others do. But, let us watch and be sober.

⁷ For those who sleep, sleep in the night. And those who are drunk, are drunk in the night.

⁸ But let us who are of the Day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and the hope of salvation for a helmet.

⁹ For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by means of our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹⁰ Who died for us so that - whether we wake or sleep - we would live together with Him.

¹¹ Therefore, exhort one another. And edify one another, just as you are doing.
