New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)
Version
Exodus 16:2-4

Here in the wilderness the whole Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died at the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, as we sat by our kettles of meat and ate our fill of bread! But you have led us into this wilderness to make this whole assembly die of famine!”

The Quail and the Manna. Then the Lord said to Moses:(A) I am going to rain down bread from heaven[a] for you. Each day the people are to go out and gather their daily portion; thus will I test them, to see whether they follow my instructions or not.

Exodus 16:9-15

Then Moses said to Aaron, “Tell the whole Israelite community: Approach the Lord, for he has heard your grumbling.” 10 But while Aaron was speaking to the whole Israelite community, they turned in the direction of the wilderness, and there the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud! 11 The Lord said to Moses: 12 I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them: In the evening twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will have your fill of bread, and then you will know that I, the Lord, am your God.

13 In the evening, quail(A) came up and covered the camp. In the morning there was a layer of dew all about the camp, 14 and when the layer of dew evaporated, fine flakes were on the surface of the wilderness, fine flakes like hoarfrost on the ground. 15 On seeing it, the Israelites asked one another, “What is this?”[a] for they did not know what it was. But Moses told them, “It is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat.(B)

Psalm 78:23-29

23 [a]So he commanded the clouds above;
    and opened the doors of heaven.
24 God rained manna upon them for food;
    grain from heaven he gave them.(A)
25 Man ate the bread of the angels;[b]
    food he sent in abundance.
26 He stirred up the east wind in the skies;
    by his might God brought on the south wind.
27 He rained meat upon them like dust,
    winged fowl like the sands of the sea,
28 They fell down in the midst of their camp,
    all round their dwellings.
29 They ate and were well filled;
    he gave them what they had craved.

Ephesians 4:1-16

Chapter 4

Unity in the Body. [a]I, then, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received,(A) with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love,(B) striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace:(C) [b]one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call;(D) one Lord, one faith, one baptism;(E) one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.(F)

Diversity of Gifts. But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.(G) Therefore, it says:

“He ascended[c] on high and took prisoners captive;
    he gave gifts to men.”(H)

What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended into the lower [regions] of the earth? 10 The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.

11 [d]And he gave some as apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers,(I) 12 to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry,[e] for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[f] to the extent of the full stature of Christ,(J) 14 so that we may no longer be infants, tossed by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching arising from human trickery, from their cunning in the interests of deceitful scheming.(K) 15 Rather, living the truth in love, we should grow in every way into him who is the head,(L) Christ,[g] 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, with the proper functioning of each part, brings about the body’s growth and builds itself up in love.(M)

Renewal in Christ.[h]

John 6:24-35

24 When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus. 25 And when they found him across the sea they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?” 26 Jesus answered them and said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled. 27 Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life,[a] which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal.”(A) 28 So they said to him, “What can we do to accomplish the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent.” 30 So they said to him, “What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you? What can you do?(B) 31 [b]Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written:(C)

‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

32 So Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.(D) 33 For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

34 (E)So they said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” 35 [c]Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.(F)
