Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
23 Still, He had commanded the clouds above, and had opened the doors of Heaven,
24 and had rained down manna upon them to eat and had given them of the wheat of Heaven.
25 Man ate the bread of angels. He sent them food enough.
26 He caused the east wind to pass in the sky; and through His power He brought in the south wind.
27 He also rained flesh upon them as dust, and feathered fowl as the sand of the sea.
28 And He made it fall in the midst of their camp, all around their habitations.
29 So they ate and were well-filled; for He gave them their desire.
3 Then Moses said to the people, “Remember this day, on which you came out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. For by a mighty hand the LORD brought you out from there. Therefore, no leavened bread shall be eaten.
4 “You came out on this day, in the month of Abib.
5 “Now, when the LORD has brought you into the land of the Canaanites, and Hittites, and Amorites, and Hivites, and Jebusites, (which He swore to your fathers that He would give you, a land flowing with milk and honey) then you shall keep this service, in this month.
6 “For seven days, you shall eat unleavened bread. And the seventh day shall be the Feast of the LORD.
7 “Unleavened bread shall be eaten for seven days; and no leavened bread shall be seen with you, nor shall leaven be seen with you in all your quarters.
8 “And you shall show your son on that day, saying, ‘This is because of that which the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’
9 “And it shall be a sign to you upon your hand, and for a remembrance between your eyes, so that the Law of the LORD may be in your mouth. For by a strong hand, the LORD brought you out of Egypt.
10 “Therefore, keep this ordinance in its appointed season from year to year.
5 And when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
6 Then Jesus said to them, “Watch, and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have brought no bread.”
8 But Jesus, knowing it, said to them, “O, you of little faith. Why are you thinking among yourselves, ‘because you have brought no bread’?”
9 Do you still not perceive or remember the five loaves - when there were five thousand - and how many baskets did you take up;
10 “or the seven loaves - when there were four thousand - and how many baskets did you take up?
11 “How do you not understand that what I said to you was not concerning bread, but that you should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?”
12 Then they understood that He had not said that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
