Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
23 Yet He commanded the skies above
And (A)opened the doors of heaven;
24 He (B)rained down manna upon them to eat
And gave them (C)grain from heaven.
25 Man ate the bread of [a]angels;
He sent them provision (D)to satisfy.
26 He (E)led forth the east wind in the heavens
And by His strength He guided the south wind.
27 Then He rained [b]meat upon them like the dust,
Even (F)winged fowl like the sand of the seas,
28 He caused them to fall in the midst of His camp,
All around His dwelling places.
29 So they (G)ate and were very satisfied,
And their desire He brought to them.
The Feast of Unleavened Bread
3 And Moses said to the people, “(A)Remember this day in which you went out from Egypt, from the house of [a]slavery; for (B)by a strong hand Yahweh brought you out from this place. (C)And nothing leavened shall be eaten. 4 This day, in the (D)month of Abib, you are going out. 5 And it shall be when Yahweh (E)brings you to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which (F)He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, (G)that you shall [b]do this service in this month. 6 For (H)seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to Yahweh. 7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and (I)nothing leavened shall be seen [c]among you, nor shall any leaven be seen [d]among you in all your borders. 8 (J)And you shall tell your son on that day, saying, ‘It is because of what Yahweh did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ 9 And (K)it will be as a sign to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the law of Yahweh may be in your mouth; for with (L)a strong hand Yahweh brought you out of Egypt. 10 Therefore, you shall (M)keep this statute at its appointed time from [e]year to year.
5 And coming to the other side of the sea, the disciples had forgotten to bring bread. 6 And Jesus said to them, “Watch out and (A)beware of the [a]leaven of the (B)Pharisees and Sadducees.” 7 Now they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “He said that because we did not bring bread.” 8 But Jesus, aware of this, said, “(C)You men of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves that you have no bread? 9 Do you not yet understand or remember (D)the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets full you picked up? 10 Or (E)the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many large baskets full you picked up? 11 How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? But (F)beware of the [b]leaven of the (G)Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the (H)Pharisees and Sadducees.
