Genesis 3:8-15

¶ Afterward they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the [a]cool of the day, and the man and his wife [b]hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

But the Lord God called to the man, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 Who said, I heard thy voice in the garden and was afraid: because I was [c]naked, therefore I hid myself.

11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

12 Then the man said, The woman which thou [d]gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

13 And the Lord God said to the woman, Why hast thou done this? And the woman said, [e]The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

14 ¶ Then the Lord God said to the serpent, [f]Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field: upon thy belly shalt thou go, and [g]dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.

15 I will also put enmity between [h]thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed. He shall break thine [i]head, and thou shalt [j]bruise his heel.

Psalm 130

130 The people of God from their bottomless miseries do cry unto God, and are heard. 3 They confess their sins, and flee unto God’s mercies.

A song of degrees.

Out of the [a]deep places have I called unto thee, O Lord.

Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears attend to the voice of my prayers.

If thou, O Lord, straightly markest iniquities, O Lord, [b]who shall stand?

But mercy is with thee, that thou [c]mayest be feared.

I have waited on the Lord: my soul hath waited, and I have trusted in his word.

My soul waiteth on the Lord more than the morning watch watcheth for the morning.

Let Israel wait on the Lord: for with the Lord is [d]mercy, and with him is great redemption.

And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1

13 [a]And because we have the same [b]spirit of faith, according as it is written, (A)I believed, and therefore have I spoken, we also believe, and therefore speak,

14 Knowing that he which hath raised up the Lord Jesus, shall raise us up also by Jesus, and shall set us with you.

15 [c]For all things are for your sakes, [d]that that most plenteous grace by the thanksgiving of many, may redound to the praise of God.

16 Therefore we faint not, [e]but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is [f]renewed daily.

17 For our [g]light affliction which is but for a moment, causeth unto us a far most excellent and an eternal weight of [h]glory:

18 While we look not on the things which are seen, but on the things which are not seen for the things which are seen, are temporal: but the things which are not seen, are eternal.

1 He continueth in the same argument, 5 touching the certain hope of salvation 7 through faith, 12 not to praise himself, 14 seeing he hath God and his Church before his eyes, 17 and esteemeth nothing, but newness of life in Christ.

For [i]we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be destroyed, we have a building given of God, that is, an house not made with hands, but eternal in the heavens.

Mark 3:20-35

20 And the multitude assembled again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

21 [a]And when his [b]kinsfolks heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said that he was beside himself.

22 (A)And the Scribes which came down from Jerusalem, said, He hath Beelzebub, and through the prince of the devils he casteth out devils.

23 But he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan drive out Satan?

24 For if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 Or if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot continue.

26 So if [c]Satan make insurrection against himself, and be divided, he cannot endure, but is at an end.

27 No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and take away his goods, except he first bind that strong man, and then spoil his house.

28 (B)[d]Verily I say unto you, all sins shall be forgiven unto the children of men, and blasphemies, wherewith they blaspheme:

29 But he that blasphemeth against the holy Ghost, shall never have forgiveness, but is culpable of eternal damnation.

30 [e]Because they said, He had an unclean spirit.

31 (C)Then came his [f]brethren and mother and stood without, and sent unto him, and called him.

32 And the people sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother, and thy brethren seek for thee without.

33 But he answered them, saying, Who is my mother and my brethren?

34 [g]And he looked round about on them, which sat in compass about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren.

35 For whosoever doeth the will of God, he is my brother, my sister, and my mother.
