130 Out of the deep places have I called to You, O LORD.

² LORD, hear my voice. Let Your ears attend to the voice of my prayers.

³ If You, O LORD, straightly mark iniquities, O LORD, who shall stand?

⁴ But mercy is with You, so that You may be feared.

⁵ I have waited on the LORD. My soul has waited; and I have trusted in His word.

⁶ My soul waits on the LORD more than the morning watch watches for the morning.

⁷ Let Israel wait on the LORD, for with the LORD is mercy and with Him is great redemption.

⁸ And He shall redeem Israel from all its iniquities. A song of degrees, or Psalm, of Solomon

⁴ These are the generations of the heavens and of the Earth - when they were created, on the day that the LORD God made the Earth and the heavens -

⁵ and every shrub of the field before it was in the earth; and every plant of the field, before it grew. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, nor was there a man to till the ground,

⁶ But a mist went up from the Earth; and watered all the Earth.

⁷ The LORD God also made the man from the dust of the ground and breathed in his face breath of life. And the man was a living soul.

⁸ And the LORD God planted a garden, eastward in Eden. And there He put the man whom He had made.

⁹ For out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the Tree of Life also in the midst of the garden and the Tree of Knowledge (of good and of evil).

¹⁰ And out of Eden went a river to water the garden. And from there it was divided and became four heads.

¹¹ The name of the first, Pishon. The same runs through the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.

¹² And the gold of that land is good. There is bdellium and the onyx stone.

¹³ And the name of the second river, Gihon. The same runs through the whole land of Cush.

¹⁴ And the name of the third river, Hiddekel. This goes toward the east side of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.15 Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden, so that he might dress it and keep it.

⁴ Now when many people had gathered together and come to Him out of all the cities, He spoke a parable.

⁵ “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside. And it was trampled underfoot, and the birds of heaven devoured it.

⁶ “And some fell on the stones. And after it sprang up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

⁷ “And some fell among thorns. And the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.

⁸ “And some fell on good ground. And it sprang up and bore fruit, a hundredfold.” And as He said these things, He cried, “The one who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

⁹ Then His disciples asked Him what parable that was.

¹⁰ And He said, “To you it is given to know the secrets of the Kingdom of God. But to others they come in parables. So that when they see, they will not see. And when they hear, they will not understand.

¹¹ “The parable is this: The seed is the Word of God.

¹² “And that which are along the way are those who hear, but afterward the devil comes and takes away the Word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

¹³ “But the ones on the stones are those who, when they have heard the Word, receive it with joy. But they have no roots. So, for a while they believe, but in the time of temptation they go away.

¹⁴ “And that which fell among thorns are those who have heard, but after their departure are choked with cares and riches and the pursuit of pleasure. And they bring forth no fruit.

¹⁵ “But that which fell in good ground are those who hear the Word with an honest and good heart, and keep it, and bring forth fruit through patience.
