Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
130 Out of the deep places have I called to You, O LORD.
2 LORD, hear my voice. Let Your ears attend to the voice of my prayers.
3 If You, O LORD, straightly mark iniquities, O LORD, who shall stand?
4 But mercy is with You, so that You may be feared.
5 I have waited on the LORD. My soul has waited; and I have trusted in His word.
6 My soul waits on the LORD more than the morning watch watches for the morning.
7 Let Israel wait on the LORD, for with the LORD is mercy and with Him is great redemption.
8 And He shall redeem Israel from all its iniquities. A song of degrees, or Psalm, of Solomon
34 “Then the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was angry, and swore, saying,
35 ‘Surely, not one of these men of this froward generation shall see that good land which I swore to give to your fathers,
36 ‘except Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. He shall see it, and to him I will give the land that he has walked upon, and to his children, because he has constantly followed the LORD.’
37 “Also the LORD was angry with me because of you, saying, ‘You also shall not go in there,
38 ‘But Joshua, the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there. Encourage him. For he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39 ‘Moreover, your children (whom you said would be a prey) and your sons (who, in those days, had no knowledge between good and evil), they shall go in there. And to them I will give it. And they shall possess it.
40 ‘But as for you, turn back and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.’
5 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle is destroyed, we have a building given by God; that is, a house, made not with hands, but eternal, in the heavens.
2 For therefore we sigh, desiring to be clothed with our house, which is from Heaven.
3 Because if we are clothed, we shall not be found naked.
4 For indeed, we who are in this tabernacle sigh and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed; so that mortality might be swallowed up in life.
5 And He Who has created us for this thing, is God; Who also has given us the earnest portion of the Spirit.
