Psalm 81:1-10

Psalm 81

For the Music Director. According to The Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph.

Sing aloud unto God our strength;
    make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.
Lift up a melody, and sound the tambourine,
    the pleasant lyre with the harp.

Blow the trumpet at the New Moon,
    at the full moon on our feast day.
For this is a statute for Israel,
    a decree of the God of Jacob.
This He ordained in Joseph as a decree
    when He went out against the land of Egypt.

I heard a voice that I had not known:

“I removed his shoulder from the burden;
    his hands were released from holding the basket.
You called in trouble, and I delivered you;
    I answered you in the secret place of thunder;
    I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah
Hear, O My people, and I will testify against you.
    O Israel, if you would listen to me!
There shall be no strange god among you;
    neither shall you bow down to any strange god.
10 I am the Lord your God,
    who brought you out of the land of Egypt;
    open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Leviticus 24:5-9

The Bread of the Tabernacle

You shall take wheat flour and bake twelve cakes. Two-tenths of an ephah[a] shall be in each cake. You shall set them in two rows, six in a row, on the pure gold table before the Lord. You shall put pure frankincense on each row, so that it may be on the bread for a memorial, a food offering made by fire to the Lord. Every Sabbath he shall set it in order continually before the Lord, with the portion taken from the children of Israel by a perpetual covenant. It shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, for it is most holy to him of the food offerings of the Lord made by fire by a perpetual statute.

John 7:19-24

19 Did Moses not give you the law, and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”

20 The people answered and said, “You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?”

21 Jesus answered them, “I did one work, and you all marvel. 22 Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision, you circumcise a man on the Sabbath day (although it did not come from Moses, but from the Patriarchs). 23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath day, so that the Law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry at Me because I completely healed a man on the Sabbath day? 24 Do not judge according to appearance, but practice righteous judgment.”
