Psalm 103:1-13

Bless the Lord, O My Soul

Of David.

103 (A)Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
(B)Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and (C)forget not all his benefits,
who (D)forgives all your iniquity,
    who (E)heals all your diseases,
who (F)redeems your life from the pit,
who (G)crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who (H)satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like (I)the eagle's.
The Lord works (J)righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his (K)ways to Moses,
his (L)acts to the people of Israel.
The Lord is (M)merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
(N)He will not always chide,
nor will he (O)keep his anger for ever.
10 He does not deal with us (P)according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For (Q)as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his (R)steadfast love towards (S)those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he (T)remove our transgressions from us.
13 As (U)a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion (V)to those who fear him.

Psalm 103:22

22 (A)Bless the Lord, all his works,
in all places of his dominion.
(B)Bless the Lord, O my soul!

Ezekiel 16:53-63

53 (A)“I will restore their fortunes, both the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters, and the fortunes of Samaria and her daughters, and I will restore your own fortunes in their midst, 54 that you may bear your disgrace (B)and be ashamed of all that you have done, (C)becoming a consolation to them. 55 As for your sisters, Sodom and her daughters shall return to their former state, (D)and Samaria and her daughters shall return (E)to their former state, (F)and you and your daughters shall return (G)to your former state. 56 Was not your sister Sodom a byword in your mouth (H)in the day of your pride, 57 before your wickedness was uncovered? Now you have become (I)an object of reproach for the daughters of Syria[a] and all those around her, and for (J)the daughters of the Philistines, (K)those all around who despise you. 58 (L)You bear the penalty of your lewdness and your abominations, declares the Lord.

The Lord's Everlasting Covenant

59 “For thus says the Lord God: I will deal with you as you have done, you (M)who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant, 60 yet (N)I will remember my covenant with you (O)in the days of your youth, (P)and I will establish for you an everlasting covenant. 61 (Q)Then you will remember your ways (R)and be ashamed when you take (S)your sisters, both your elder and your younger, and I give them to you (T)as daughters, but not on account of[b] the covenant with you. 62 I will establish my covenant with you, (U)and you shall know that I am the Lord, 63 that you may remember and be confounded, and (V)never open your mouth again because of your shame, when I atone for you for all that you have done, declares the Lord God.”

John 7:53-8:11

The Woman Caught in Adultery

53 [[They went each to his own house, but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. (A)Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and (B)he sat down and taught them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now (C)in the Law Moses commanded us (D)to stone such women. So what do you say?” This they said (E)to test him, (F)that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, (G)“Let him who is without sin among you (H)be the first to throw a stone at her.” And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 10 Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, (I)“Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on (J)sin no more.”]]
