103 Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!

² Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits—

³ who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases,

⁴ who redeemeth thy life from destruction, who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

⁵ who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

⁶ The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

⁷ He made known His ways unto Moses, His acts unto the children of Israel.

⁸ The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy.

⁹ He will not always chide, neither will He keep His anger for ever.

¹⁰ He hath not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

¹¹ For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him.

¹² As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.

¹³ As a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him.

²² Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul!

⁴⁴ “‘Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, “As is the mother, so is her daughter.”

⁴⁵ Thou art thy mother’s daughter, who loatheth her husband and her children, and thou art the sister of thy sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.

⁴⁶ And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters, who dwell at thy left hand; and thy younger sister, who dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

⁴⁷ Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done according to their abominations, but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.

⁴⁸ As I live, saith the Lord God, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

⁴⁹ Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy;

⁵⁰ and they were haughty and committed abomination before Me. Therefore I took them away as I saw good.

⁵¹ Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.

⁵² Thou also, who hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou. Yea, be thou confounded also and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:

² Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, according as

³ His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

⁴ Thereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

⁵ And besides this, using all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge,

⁶ and to knowledge temperance, and to temperance patience, and to patience godliness,

⁷ and to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness charity.

⁸ For if these things be in you and abound, they make you that ye shall be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ But he that lacketh these things is blind and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

¹⁰ Therefore brethren, give diligence all the more to make your calling and election sure, for if ye do these things ye shall never fall.

¹¹ For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
