Revised Geneva Translation (RGT)
Version
Psalm 51:1-12

51 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness. According to the multitude of Your compassions, put away my iniquities.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity; and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my iniquities; and my sin is ever before me.

Against You, against You only, have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be just when You speak and pure when You judge.

Behold, I was born in iniquity; and in sin my mother conceived me.

Behold, You love truth to the core. Therefore, You have taught me wisdom in my core.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Make me hear joy and gladness; so that the bones which You have broken may rejoice.

Hide Your Face from my sins; and put away all my iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me away from Your presence; and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation; and establish me with Your free Spirit.

Exodus 30:1-10

30 Furthermore, you shall make an Altar for sweet incense. You shall make it of shittim wood,

“a cubit in length, and a cubit in width (it shall be square) and two cubits in height. Its horns shall be from the same piece.

“And you shall overlay it with fine gold, on the top and on the sides, all around, and its horns. Also, you shall make a border of gold all around.

“Besides this, you shall make two golden rings under this border, on either side. You shall make them on every side, so that they may be as places for the poles to bear it.

“You shall make the poles of shittim wood and shall cover them with gold.

“Afterward, you shall set it before the veil that is near the Ark of the Testimony, before the Mercy Seat that is upon the Testimony, where I will meet with you.

“And Aaron shall burn sweet incense on it every morning. When he tends his lamps, he shall burn it.

“Likewise at twilight, when Aaron sets up his lamps, he shall burn incense. This perfume shall be perpetually before the LORD, throughout your generations.

“You shall offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt sacrifice, nor offering, nor pour any drink offering on it.

10 “And Aaron shall make reconciliation upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering, on the Day of Reconciliation. Once a year, he shall make reconciliation upon it, throughout your generations. This is Most Holy to the LORD.”

Hebrews 4:14-5:4

14 Seeing, then, that we have a great High Priest Who has entered into Heaven (Jesus, the Son of God), let us hold firmly to our confession.

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all things tempted in the same way, yet without sin.

16 Therefore, let us go boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

For every High Priest is taken from among man (and is ordained for man, in things pertaining to God), so that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

He is able to have compassion on the ignorant and the wayward, because he also is encompassed by infirmity.

And for the same reason he must also offer for his own sins as well as for the people’s.

And no man takes this honor for himself, but rather he who is called by God (as was Aaron).
