Psalm 63

63 O God, You are my God. I will seek You early. My soul thirsts for You. My flesh longs greatly after You in a barren and dry land, without water.

Thus, when I behold Your power and Your Glory, I behold You as in the Sanctuary.

For Your lovingkindness is better than life. My lips shall praise You.

Thus will I magnify You all my life and lift up my hands in Your Name.

My soul shall be satisfied, as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips,

When I remember You on my bed, I think upon You in the night watches.

Therefore, because You have been my helper, I will rejoice under the shadow of Your wings.

My soul clings to You. Your right hand upholds me.

Therefore, those who seek my soul to destroy it, they shall go into the lowest parts of the Earth.

10 They shall cast him down with the edge of the sword. They shall be a portion for foxes.

11 But the king shall rejoice in God. All who swear by Him shall rejoice. For the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped. To him who excels: A Psalm of David

Amos 8:7-14

The LORD has sworn by the excellency of Jacob, “Surely, I will never forget any of their works.

“Shall not the land tremble for this; and everyone mourn who dwells therein? And it shall rise up, wholly as a flood, and it shall be cast out and drowned as by the flood of Egypt.

“And on that day,” says the LORD God, “I will even cause the Sun to go down at noon. I will darken the Earth in the clear day.

10 “And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation. And I will bring sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head. And I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

11 “Behold, the days come,” says the LORD God, “that I will send a famine in the land; not a famine of bread nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the Word of the LORD.

12 “And they shall wander from sea to sea. And from the north even to the east shall they run to and fro, to seek the Word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

13 “On that day shall the fair virgins and the young men perish for thirst.

14 “Those who swear by the sin of Samaria, and who say, ‘Your God, O Dan, lives!” and, “The manner of Beersheba lives!” even they shall fall and never rise up again.

1 Corinthians 14:20-25

20 Brothers, do not be children in understanding, but concerning wickedness be children; in understanding be of a ripe age.

21 In the Law it is written, “‘By other tongues, and by other languages, will I speak to this people. Yet so shall they not hear me’, says the Lord.”

22 Therefore, tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to those who do not believe. And prophesying is not for unbelievers, but for believers.

23 If therefore, when the whole church comes together as one, and all speak tongues, and there come in those who are unlearned, or those who do not believe, will they not say that you are out of your wits?

24 But if all prophesy, and there comes in one who does not believe, or one unlearned, he is rebuked by all and is examined by all.

25 And so are the secrets of his heart made manifest. And so he will fall down on his face and worship God, and say plainly that God is in you indeed.
