Version
Psalm 23

The Lord, the Psalmist’s Shepherd.

A Psalm of David.

23 The Lord is my (A)shepherd,
I [a]shall (B)not want.
He makes me lie down in (C)green pastures;
He (D)leads me beside [b](E)quiet waters.
He (F)restores my soul;
He (G)guides me in the [c](H)paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Even though I (I)walk through the [d]valley of the shadow of death,
I (J)fear no [e]evil, for (K)You are with me;
Your (L)rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You (M)prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You [f]have (N)anointed my head with oil;
My (O)cup overflows.
[g]Surely (P)goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will [h](Q)dwell in the house of the Lord [i]forever.

Isaiah 24:17-23

17 (A)Terror and pit and snare
[a]Confront you, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 Then it will be that he who flees the [b]report of disaster will fall into the pit,
And he who [c]climbs out of the pit will be caught in the snare;
For the (B)windows [d]above are opened, and the (C)foundations of the earth shake.
19 (D)The earth is broken asunder,
The earth is (E)split through,
The earth is shaken violently.
20 The earth (F)reels to and fro like a drunkard
And it totters like a [e]shack,
For its (G)transgression is heavy upon it,
And it will fall, (H)never to rise again.
21 So it will happen in that day,
That the Lord will (I)punish the host of [f]heaven on high,
And the (J)kings of the earth on earth.
22 They will be gathered together
Like (K)prisoners in the [g]dungeon,
And will be confined in prison;
And after many days they will (L)be punished.
23 Then the (M)moon will be abashed and the sun ashamed,
For the (N)Lord of hosts will reign on (O)Mount Zion and in Jerusalem,
And His glory will be before His elders.

Mark 2:18-22

18 (A)John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and they *came and *said to Him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?” 19 And Jesus said to them, “While the bridegroom is with them, [a]the attendants of the bridegroom cannot fast, can they? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20 But the (B)days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

21 “No one sews [b]a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise [c]the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear results. 22 No one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost and the skins as well; but one puts new wine into fresh wineskins.”
