Version
Psalm 80:7-15

Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt; Thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

Thou preparedst room for it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.

11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.

12 Why hast Thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they that pass by the way do pluck her?

13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

14 Return, we beseech Thee, O God of hosts; look down from heaven, and behold and visit this vine,

15 and the vineyard which Thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that Thou madest strong for Thyself.

Jeremiah 6:1-10

“O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem! And blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem! For evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.

I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.

The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.”

“Prepare ye war against her! Arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! For the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.

Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.”

For thus hath the Lord of hosts said: “Hew ye down trees, and cast a mound against Jerusalem. This is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.

As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness. Violence and spoil are heard in her; before Me continually are grief and wounds.

Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest My soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.”

Thus saith the Lord of hosts: “They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine; turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.”

10 To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised and they cannot hearken; behold, the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

John 7:40-52

40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, “In truth this is the Prophet.”

41 Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

42 Hath not the Scripture said that Christ cometh out of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem where David was?”

43 So there was a division among the people because of Him.

44 And some of them would have taken Him, but no man laid hands on Him.

45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said unto them, “Why have ye not brought him?”

46 The officers answered, “Never did man speak like this man!”

47 Then the Pharisees answered them, “Are ye also deceived?

48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?

49 But this people, who knoweth not the law, are cursed.”

50 Nicodemus said unto them (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them),

51 “Doth our law judge any man before it hear him and know what he doeth?”

52 They answered and said unto him, “Art thou also from Galilee? Search and look, for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.”
