Joseph’s Death

²² Joseph and his father’s family remained in Egypt. Joseph lived 110 years. ²³ He saw Ephraim’s sons to the third generation;^(A) the sons of Manasseh’s son Machir were recognized by^[a][b] Joseph.^(B)

²⁴ Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die,^(C) but God will certainly come to your aid and bring you up from this land to the land he swore to give to Abraham,^(D) Isaac,^(E) and Jacob.”^{(F) 25} So Joseph made the sons of Israel take an oath: “When God comes to your aid, you are to carry my bones up from here.”^(G)

²⁶ Joseph died at the age of 110. They embalmed him and placed him in a coffin in Egypt.

The Barren Fig Tree Is Withered

²⁰ Early^(A) in the morning, as they were passing by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up. ²¹ Then Peter^(B) remembered and said to him, “Rabbi,^(C) look! The fig tree that you cursed^(D) has withered.”

²² Jesus replied to them, “Have faith in God.^{(E) 23} Truly I tell you,^(F) if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt^(G) in his heart, but believes^(H) that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.^{(I) 24} Therefore I tell you, everything you pray^(J) and ask for^(K)—believe that you have received^[a](L) it and it will be yours. ²⁵ And whenever you stand^(M) praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive^(N) him, so that your Father^(O) in heaven^(P) will also forgive^(Q) you your wrongdoing.”^[b]
