Psalm 119:33-40

He.

33 (A)Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes,
And I shall observe it to the end.
34 (B)Give me understanding, that I may (C)observe Your law
And keep it (D)with all my heart.
35 Make me walk in the (E)path of Your commandments,
For I (F)delight in it.
36 (G)Incline my heart to Your testimonies
And not to (H)dishonest gain.
37 Turn away my (I)eyes from looking at vanity,
And (J)revive me in Your ways.
38 (K)Establish Your [a]word to Your servant,
[b]As that which produces reverence for You.
39 (L)Turn away my reproach which I dread,
For Your ordinances are good.
40 Behold, I (M)long for Your precepts;
Revive me through Your righteousness.

Ezekiel 24:15-27

Death of Ezekiel’s Wife Is a Sign

15 And the word of the Lord came to me saying, 16 “Son of man, behold, I am about to take from you the (A)desire of your eyes with a (B)blow; but you shall not (C)mourn and you shall not weep, and your (D)tears shall not come. 17 Groan silently; make (E)no mourning for the dead. Bind on your turban and put your shoes on your feet, and do not cover your mustache and (F)do not eat the bread of men.” 18 So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. And in the morning I did as I was commanded. 19 The people said to me, “Will you not tell us what these things that you are doing mean for us?” 20 Then I said to them, “The word of the Lord came to me saying, 21 ‘Speak to the house of Israel, “Thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I am about to profane My sanctuary, the pride of your power, the (G)desire of your eyes and the delight of your soul; and your (H)sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword. 22 You will do as I have done; you will not cover your mustache and you will not eat the bread of men. 23 Your turbans will be on your heads and your shoes on your feet. You (I)will not mourn and you will not weep, but (J)you will rot away in your iniquities and you will groan [a]to one another. 24 Thus Ezekiel will be a (K)sign to you; according to all that he has done you will do; when it comes, then you will know that I am the Lord God.’”

25 ‘As for you, son of man, will it not be on the day when I take from them their (L)stronghold, the joy of their [b]pride, the desire of their eyes and [c]their heart’s delight, their sons and their daughters, 26 that on that day he who (M)escapes will come to you with information for your ears? 27 On that day your (N)mouth will be opened to him who escaped, and you will speak and be mute no longer. Thus you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the Lord.’”

Romans 10:15-21

15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “(A)How beautiful are the feet of those who [a](B)bring good news of good things!”

16 However, they (C)did not all heed the [b]good news; for Isaiah says, “(D)Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So faith comes from (E)hearing, and hearing by (F)the word [c]of Christ.

18 But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? Indeed they have;

(G)Their voice has gone out into all the earth,
And their words to the ends of the [d]world.”

19 But I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says,

(H)I will (I)make you jealous by that which is not a nation,
By a nation without understanding will I anger you.”

20 And Isaiah is very bold and says,

(J)I was found by those who did not seek Me,
I became manifest to those who did not ask for Me.”

21 But as for Israel He says, “(K)All the day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.”
