Version
Isaiah 51:1-6

51 ¶ Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD; look unto the rock from which ye are hewn and to the hole of the pit from which ye are dug.

Look unto Abraham your father and unto Sarah that bore you; for I called him alone and blessed him and multiplied him.

For the LORD shall surely comfort Zion; he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of singing.

¶ Hearken unto me, my people, and give ear unto me, O my nation: for the law shall proceed from me, and I will uncover my judgment for a light of the peoples.

My righteousness is near; my saving health is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me; and on my arm shall they place their hope.

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and those that dwell therein shall perish in like manner; but my saving health shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall never perish.

Psalm 138

A Psalm of David.

¶ I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods I will sing praises unto thee.

I will worship the temple of thy holiness and praise thy name above thy mercy and thy truth; for thou hast made thy name to be magnificent and raised up thy spoken word above all things.

In the day when I called, thou didst answer me and strengthen me with strength in my soul.

All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hearken unto the spoken words from thy mouth.

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.

¶ For the LORD, who is high and lifted up, looks upon the humble, but the proud he does not know.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; thou shalt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; thy mercy, O LORD, endures for ever; forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Romans 12:1-8

12 ¶ Therefore, I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies in living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing unto God, which is your rational worship.

And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

Therefore I say through the grace given unto me, to all those that are among you not to obtain more knowledge than is prudent to know, but to obtain knowledge with temperance, each one according to the measure of faith that God has dealt.

For in the manner that we have many members in one body, nevertheless all the members do not have the same operation;

likewise many of us are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

So that having different gifts according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, according to the measure of faith;

or ministry, in serving; or he that teaches, in doctrine;

he that exhorts, in exhortation; he that gives, let him do it in simplicity; he that presides, in earnest care; he that shows mercy, in cheerfulness.

Matthew 16:13-20

13 ¶ When Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.

15 He said unto them, But who say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in the heavens.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, a small rock and upon the large rock I will build my congregation, {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against her.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, and whatever thou shalt bind on the earth shall be bound in the heavens, and whatever thou shalt loose on the earth shall be loosed in the heaven.

20 Then he charged his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.
